Ha! The magazine is cool but the best was when my wife and I spent a week living on the sanctuary grounds in Utah socializing with the kitties and pups.  It’s a little animal paradise.

That does sound kind of amazing. Is that a perk if you donate a lot to their org? Or is it a thing anyone can buy and go do?

Anyone can actually do it, you do pay to stay there though.  We stayed in a nice private trailer right on the grounds.  They let you take in some animals to live with you for the time you are there.  I think we had 3 cats and 2 dogs staying in our living space.  Then during the day you volunteer and work in the different sections of the sancturay feeding and socialising with the animals.  It's in Kanub Utah a close drive to Zion national park so we did a couple of outings there during our stay.

Without necessarily picking a side on this debate I will say that non-paying buyers are, and have been for as long as I've been here, much more rampant than gets brought forth.

Just got in from work and can't believe this thread has generated almost $150 in less than 24 hours for the pups, cats and ferrets.

@Red84 is awesome sauce for getting this going.

Hoping more people donate to their favorite animal charity.  I had someone ask me about SBRET, the charity I donated to.

The abbreviation stands for SMALL BREED RESCUE OF EAST TENNESSEE and they are on the net if you want to look them up.

They deal in only smaller dogs and are active in finding homes for puppy mill dogs and abandoned pups.  I got Ozzy from them in early 2009.  He was found on Kingston Pike in Knoxville right down from UT in early Feb of that year.  He was almost frozen but they saved him and I adopted him when he was nursed back to health.  He's been my pal for 12 years now and still going strong...just less teeth .  Bella was adopted from them in 2012...she's a mess too .

 SBRET and local East TN breweries have  a "Cuddle Bus" where, for a $5 donation, you get locked in a bus with 10+ puppies.  All those pups want is attention and it's awesome.

Thanks to all you guys for taking a somber thread...and turning it into something meaningful

@crassus....don't really want to ruin the mood in here.....but would you mind verifying that this thread was started 72 hours ago and then add nocutename to the Probation List?

And just to reiterate......Bio-Rupp has stated he would be willing to consider the matter closed if nocutename would make a $12 donation to PAWS Chicago to help rescue homeless pets......which can be found at this link.......and then post a screenshot showing the donation in this thead.
