You've got to give Comic Connect some credit for showing the back cover.  They don't do it for every book.

Spine ticks are from the wrapping during production. Doesn't affect grade.

I did a google search and couldn't get a better or more recent picture.  Pretty sure there was a thread on the boards about it but I'm in the middle of something right now.  Pretty sure it's the upper right corner that got blunted.

This is one of the many reasons I'm taking a break from sending anything in to CGC (so hey, turnaround times will speed up by .0000002%).

I have about 70 books in now, but I can't send anything else in. Not until this storm passes. It may take a year or more, if ever, we'll see. I'll still be buying, still be selling on occasion, but not subbing until things are less chaotic. Sending a high value book to a presser, who is also slammed, and then to CGC which is buried under an avalanche of books, is too much right now. 

The last book I sent was an Avengers 1, walkthru. It's been a few weeks and I have no idea where it is. Have fun, kids.

I was just curious about the spine tick comment. Let's say this is correct and spine ticks (in production) don't effect grade. This would definitely affect sales. It would not affect fools who buy the label not the book. Those who set store by the appeal of the book first and foremost would be reluctant to drop big ackers on a book with spine ticks no matter what the grade I think, well particularly the people that acquire all the high end stuff anyway. Just a thought.

I'm also curious why something that happened in production would be ignored? Spine ticks, like overspray, and incorrect binding, are pretty hard to ignore.
