Don't have microsoft paint or anything comparable on the Mac (I don't think) so I cannot jump in... 

But great to see contests on the boards.

The only reason I mentioned a program like Microsoft Paint is because I paste my "screen grab" into it so I can use it to trim off the excess stuff (like web browser tabs, the strip with the clock at the bottom of my screen, etc.).  Then I just save the picture to a file on my computer before uploading it to the boards.

But, if you have a way to do a screen grab and can just save the whole image on your computer and then upload it to a post, that would be fine.  You don't have to worry about trimming off the excess stuff.....but you'll want to close all of your Porn tabs before doing it.

So....something like this below would be fine (On the picture for my game, I just used Microsoft Paint to trim along where I've drawn the red line....but it's not necessary to do that):

If DC Comics aren't your thing, how about we add a high grade Marvel with an old-school label to the prize mix?

One that was graded 8/29/2002 with the original label type CGC used when they first started.  

This was before all of you rampant pressers took over, and back when Borock and Greggy were both still in diapers......the baby kind, not the kind they have to wear now.

The scan for Prize Choice #3 has now been added to the first post in this thread.

Wasn't sure if you're joking......but let me see if I can clarify.

 

Sitting in my living room, I used Google Maps (google.com/maps) to pick out a location somewhere on earth.

I then used the "Street View" function in Google Maps to get down to ground level at this location.  

I then used the "Print Screen" function on my computer to essentially take a picture at this location.

 

What the players have to do, is use the clues I give to figure out where I stood in Google Maps to take this "picture"

Then, on their computer, they need to go there in Google Maps....use the "Street View" function to stand in the same spot I did......take a matching "Screen Shot"......then post it to win.

Whew, glad you clarified. I told my wife I'd be away traveling the next two weeks for a CGC boards contest.

(She seemed fine with it, FWIW) (shrug)

Two questions for clarification

1) If someone posts very early from a clue, and it's a wrong image, are they disqualified or penalized? Or can they do this over and over.

2) Can posters make attempts along the way (starting with 1st clue), or is there some point at which everyone is allowed to make guesses.

Got you added to the List of Participants.

And good questions that I hadn't given much consideration to.  

The "Puzzle Picture" that has to be matched to win is going to be put together over time......and it's not going to be easy to tell where I am, especially in the beginning.  In other words, if I was hiding at the Statue of Liberty......I would not post her head as the first piece of the puzzle.  And, it's not going to be someplace that obvious either.  

The additional clues I give aren't going to be obvious in the beginning either.....although as I post more of them, it should become easier to figure out where I'm hiding.  If not, I'll just keep posting more and more obvious clues until someone wins.

That being said.....I don't think there will be a penalty for posting the wrong image.....or posting too many of them.....as I want to encourage everyone to try to figure this out.  

And yes.....posters can make attempts along the way starting with the 1st clue.  But I could be anywhere on earth....so doing this very early in the game would probably just be a waste of their time.
