I just had a look at 244 and 251.  Not sure I see the problem with 244.  Is it because it looks like he has leggings under the costume?  That doesn't seem that bad--some sort of anti-chafing precaution.  251 is a bit wild though.  Not sure I would have noticed, but that one leg is way off.  Probably need Kav to come in and describe exactly how anatomically impossible it is, but it seems that the Joker is, at the very least, suffering from some advanced form of hip dysplasia.

I guess on 251 his legs are spread so wide he's going to hurt himself...

@kav - That's what she said?

Another key I'd group in with this is Marvel Preview 7, first Rocket (Rocky) Raccoon.  Don't like the story, the art, or his feeble, cliched British accent and dialogue.  Hulk 271; terrible as well, plus an atrocious cover.

Agree. I had some from buying collections. Even had a cgc because I love the cover. Story character yuck. Movie was solid though.

Every time I see that style of art from the 90s-ish (Leifeld, Lee etc, even Todd) it's like having a handful of sand thrown into my eyes.

I'm like that for most of this kind of stuff myself, but I don't mind this cover for some reason.

Please do.

Fine...

Secret Wars 8...  That book is around $700 in a 9.8.

That makes no sense when it comes to the black costume and Venom.

  • May 1984 - ASM 252 - 1st Black Costume
  • November 1984 - ASM 258 - Peter discovers that the black costume is actually an Alien Symbiote.
  • December 1984 - Secret Wars 8 - We see Peter Parker get a costume from a machine

The more sought after book should be ASM 258 as that was when we learn the black costume is an alien symbiote and that is a full month before SW8.

I agree 100%.

And ASM 258 is way underated.

I actually picked up a 9.6-9.8 candidate at NYCC before I ever posted this.  I have several copies but I wanted something near perfect before I ever said it publicly.

Say it loud. I had my copy since I was a kid. This is Venom. It was a suit before.

Lee's style quickly morphed to the Leifeld-esque style that is so detestably 90sish. Compare that X-Men 4 abovr to just a couple years earlier with his X-Men 248 debut. World of difference.

That was inked by Dan Green... Marc Silvestri's inker I think. Marc Silvestri's style was also not the technically sharp style he currently has now. It was MUCH more open and scattered with lines that frequently did not connect. Dan Green also inked Dr. Strange.

Jim Lee started on Alpha Flight and then went to Punisher War Journal. He did this cover for Punisher War Journal #7 in 1989 with Carl Potts. I think Carl Potts follows Lee's line work much closer and it looks MORE like what Lee's work will become later once he's more experienced and working with Williams. X-Men #248 was published Sept. 1989 that same year.

Amazing Spider-Man #101 is a key that’s very “blah” to me. I have 0 interest in Morbius.

While his upcoming movie does look interesting, I’m just not interested in his comic counterpart. He’s just a vampire to me.

Spider-Man (2000) - great game. Terrific unlockable costumes.

The Bombastic Bag-man was a favorite.

I bought the PS5 Miles game and it came with the other Spidey game too - so fun, and Bombastic Bag-Man was in there too.

Dan inked most everyone at Marvel over the years; definitely one of the better ones. He’s also a pretty strong penciller. He also penciled Dr Strange for a bit, and he was inked by Terry Austin in those issues.

Incredible Hulk 180.

In his first appearance Wolverine didn't even show up until the last panel!

You’re just anti-canadian :roflmao:

It's true, your team wouldn't let me across the border during the pandemic.

I do love Wolverine.  So not total Canadian hate.

Puck?  Puke.

Samsquantch?  Nah.
