Almost all have some sort of cosplay.  I always find myself mesmerised at the body paint cosplayers. 

Unfortunately most are WAY too explicit to share here..

There are about a dozen local collectors in my area who get together about every 3 months to buy, sell and trade and talk comics. We get a patio area in a local restaurant. Often “strangers” are invited and show up with cool stuff as well. Here are a few pictures of past events.

That sounds cool. I might just have to do that. I moved just an hour or so southeast into Iowa. I go to Omaha about two to three times a month to get my pull file from my LCS and buy stuff.

Sure.  There used to be a group of boardies here within a 30 minute drive of one another, and we'd go out periodically to drink, or to eat and drink, and yap about all things comics.  It helped our little group that there was a monthly low-key comic book show near the airport that we'd all frequent.  On a couple of occasions, we'd gather at someone's house and everyone would bring cool books or original art for the group to see.  We occasionally did deals as well.  Some of the folks don't participate much if at all on the boards anymore, and a couple have moved from the area, so the gatherings have stopped.  But it was the boards and the local regular comic book show that brought us together, and having comic book buddies has been great fun.

Back in the old days we had forum dinners at just about every comic con. We even had Stan Lee, Neal Adam's, and a few other celebs join us at times.

We recently had a Colorado meet up that was just plan amazing.  People brought so much good stuff it was mind boggling.

I am blessed with many friends, but of the ones I see regularly, zero are comic fans/collectors. I have ONE friend who is also a toy collector, so we go to Joe shows and toy cons and stuff together, but as for comics, I'm 100% on my own. I'm DROWNING in musicians, however. If it was a new bass or pedal or whatever, sure, plenty of folks with whom I could talk about that stuff. But comics, nada. So, that's why I like to come on here and share stuff, because none of my friends care about my comic pick-ups. The boards provide a vital form of self expressions! (i.e. hey look at this pile of worthless I found!)
