Very nice of you, but I had an UP Yourself Book and got rid of it. Hate that it has the NL logo even attached to it.

 

The Canada Special is not really high on my list and is only something I'd care to score if it came across my path in some cheap dollar box or the like.

 

I came across an unopened box of Sunday Parodies around a decade ago, and they sell very well still. Not as well as the Yearbook Parody, which usually doesn't last longer than a week when I get  copies and catalog them, but it's a bit of ephemera people love to check out, if only for it's excellent design!

I found a copy of the Sunday Newspaper parody a few years ago... it's luckily complete, but it's fragile.  It really was brilliantly designed... which is true for a LOT of the Lampoon parodies.

Another reason to adore NL, Especially when Michael Gross took over the look of the mag from the stoners that were there the first few issues. One of my prize NL related possessions is this issue of Print Magazine from the mid-70's!

Happy to say I know the feeling. About 20 years ago, I found a box with about 20 pristine copies of the HS Yearbook, 1st Prints.

Twas the look on my face when I found the pair in a bargain box at a record store in Mill Valley, CA! Had to control my mirth and merriment so as not to give it away!

That Grosso cover is so sick...might slab that one as well...they've only released a few in memorium covers over the years.

Yes a lot of them did and with the cheaper news print a lot of them are very yellowed or brittle. I have been keeping my eye out for several of them and eventually hope to upgrade a few of the ones that I already have . 

The main ones I have been after are the Ralph Steadman / Hunter S Thompson issues, but always looking to see what else is out there that survived.  Most have subscription stickers, although I have been lucky to find a few without them.

I've always preferred On the Campaign Trail to In Las Vegas, personally... although I get why Vegas is the more famous of the two.  Great books in any case!

I definitely do enjoy On the Campaign Trail.  Also the Superbowl story (Fear and Loathing in Miami) The first movie made,  which starred Bill Murray, Where the Buffalo Roam contained some of those stories . 

The original production notes / press release folder and paperwork.

It's the only book I have signed by HST, but I prefer Las Vegas. It's one of the only books I reread regularly and have since high school. I will say, though, that Campaign Trail '72 gave me an appreciation for our election system in a way Civics class did not. It's number two on my HST list, for sure!!!

Also Banshee Cries For Buffalo Meat, or whatever the exact title was, was certainly the inspiration for the 'Oscar Zeta Acosta/ Peter Boyle' material. I really enjoy Where The Buffalo Roam, but I think for all the wrong reasons!
