What's Your Biggest Peeve When Trying To Buy On Ebay? 3 3

I can ignore the sellers who over grade and over price their books, but the thing that really chaps my hide are the one's who list new books, silver-age books, reprints, anthologies, and photocopy comics in the Golden Age section.  When I search GA comics I want to see real GA comics, not some bunch of drek.  What gripes do you have?  Post 'em here.

My biggest pet peeve is when a seller lists a book in the auction format and then cancels the auction with one day left because he isn't satisfied with the bids the book has gotten.

Here's another...Stock photo images...I never buy from anyone that uses a stock image.

I wouldn't know tbh. Certain dealers I absolutely refuse to look at their inventory.

As far as I'm aware that is a legitimate thing.

Grading criteria only goes up to Good, so anything below that has to be boxed as 'acceptable'.

Photos of group lots were the only book I am interested in is the only book that has the crucial part of the cover obscured. It's like they know it's the only book I'm interested in, and do it on purpose.

How about with just ANY auction site, being out bid seemingly at whatever bid you place…

eBay listings that constantly appear in your searches and make you want to tear your own head off because you know they're NEVER GOING TO SELL and that they will be there FOREVER until you die

It is indeed. But below Good might only be "acceptable" to the seller...

I think, personally speaking, if I see 'acceptable', I know the book is a beater...

Ebay has become a cesspool, IMO.  I closed my account almost two years ago and only buy/sell here on the boards.

Also, as @Funnybooksmentioned earlier, I'm not a professional grader.

Used to really have my search down pat, then they mucked around with the categories, eras, etc. and now it's a mess.

I was a daily looker/bidder, now I'm an almost never looker/bidder.

I managed to tweak the searches to an acceptable level, which does mostly have GA when you're looking for GA, and not books that are less than five years old.

Of course sometimes you'll get sellers calling their modern stuff GA and there'll be pages of the stuff appearing on the search, but it's easy enough to remove them.
