Can you imagine explaining your charge to guys in the joint?…

Theft?  A profit-motivated offense?

Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to understand, but then I've never had to use a joint in that way.

Not to hijack the thread, but I think there was a Comicon right here in Kansas City this weekend, at Bartle Hall.  I've never been, but I might have tried to stop by if I'd heard about it in time.  So anyway, if anyone has any info/pics/reports from THAT one, maybe they could start a different thread on it?

TIA

More shoplifters than usual reported. Someone walked off with an expensive large statue near corner of his booth near an exit for getaway. This was reported to Calgary Expo vendor help staff. My buddy had some relatively minor Space 1999 comics lifted. Auto bank teller machines needed to be reloaded, as they ran out of cash Saturday morning.

Ultimate Keys had a Secret Wars 8 stolen. I don't believe our booth was victimized (thankfully)

Saturday attendance seemed to be as crowded as ever with strong turnout at the seminars and stage interviews too.

Yet Saturday was the slowest day of the four for our booth, go figure. It makes sense that most of the Saturday attendees were there to get signatures and pictures and the like.

Of course the year I cannot make it and it looks better than the last

Imagine a lot of excited people were eager to make it this round

It was a lot smaller than previous Calgary Expo's as it was a single bay. I have been at Calgary Expos where they had 3 bays filled with vendors.

I actually really liked the size of 2022 as the single bay made it relatively easy to get around from one booth to another. I escorted many potential buyers around looking for books I did not have to show them what I found when I browsed on Wednesday/Setup day otherwise known as "Dealer Day"

Heritage will also visit Vancouver's PNE con end of June for first time.

Looks pretty dead around the Heritage booth in your picture here and I guess nobody handing million dollar books over to them as per the sign. lol

Any idea who these 2 guys are and since Calgary is supposed to be so much busier than Vancouver, they'll probably change their mind and skip the show in Vancouver in the end.  (shrug)

Saturday was my best day with a ton of retail sales from the tables and a few wall books. I could have brought half the amount of table/box stock that I did and generated higher sales. It was an interesting show - the focus for my sales was definitely bronze age to current, with minimal SA and older sales. Mind you, I did sell two of the four GA books I had at the show, so if I had brought more GGA they would have likely moved.

One of them, Zach, came by our booth near the end of the show looking for consignments. I do have some GA books that will be heading their way later this year, but I need to grade them first.

I am not sure that it was a great show for them. They should have contacted some of the local stores in advance to help promote that they would be there to accept submissions.

Never heard of this Zach guy, so I assume he must be a newbie working for them.  (shrug)

Since your books needed grading first why didn't you simply give it to them to submit it in for you since it seems that CGC tends to go quite "soft" when it comes to grading submissions from Heritage? hm
