Lots!!  Especially the Elk in downtown.  How can an Elk be so disrespected?!!   :sumo:

Elks are 100% NOT POLITICAL.

I know this is steering a bit off course, but since you asked, I'll give you 3 pictures, a link and then get back to the topic of PP ripping people off.

Official CGC factchecker, "checking" in....

It's not a statue, its a bronze recasting of the original in DC (titled Freedman's Memorial or sometimes Emancipation Memorial)

It wasn't torn down, it was removed and placed in storage while the city decides what to do with it.

The original (again, the one in DC) has always been controversial due to its history as well its design.  The original was funded by a collection of freed slaves to commemorate the Emancipation Proclamation and honor President Lincoln.  And once the funds were raised... the art group was all white men, who selected a white artist, to create... this.

A lot of the statues removed that were claimed to be 'historic' had only been put there in the 60's in response to the coming desegregation. That's all I will (and probably can) say on it. I read that numerous times when it all happened.

There's a rather large difference, but I can't go into it.

It's unfortunate that people are allowed to throw out this garbage to which it is effectively impossible to respond here.

Personally, I'm much more worried about the actual attempts to erase or sanitize history that are happening, among other things that can't be discussed here.

And these........

Which statues were torn down during the Oregon State Capitol riot?

  • George Washington and Thomas Jefferson's statues were the first to go in June, then in October, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt were torn down. RELATED: Police declare riot as protesters topple statues, break windows, throw flares into Oregon Historical Society
