I think that Russ gets a little forgotten on his western work. I have a nice copy of that Arizona Kid barroom fight cover. I didn’t realize for a long time it was Heath. Such a “busy” cover! Popular Post buttock
Sticking with the war chronology, the higher ups at Atlas must have liked what they saw from Russ after a few months because in June of '52 he had 7 covers on the stands. adamstrange, Scrooge, Jayman and 11 others 12

I have 95 out of the ~ 100 war covers Heath did for Atlas but never got a chance to look at them in order since they are filed alphabetically. And your copies Edited November 15, 2022 by Scrooge Jayman, buttock and jimjum12

And your copies I think it will be a good way to look at them. In the '54-'55 period it seemed like he really became the go-to guy for the war books, and he was firing on all cylinders at that point. I'd love to extend it into the 1970s, but he was mostly at DC in the 60s & 70s and they used him for interior work with the exception of GI Combat. jimjum12

I remember buying a few off the stands in '56. They re-used some of their earlier stories, censoring both language and graphics. I could compare them with coverless pre-code issues bought at 3 for a quarter. Point Five and jimjum12
