I have never seen this cover in the wild while hunting for Spawn books. My favorite #220 cover is the Youngblood homage, can't wait till you post that one.

I'll await the Youngblood cover as well, I think this one is neat, the savage dragon, if just for the neat idea of the cape as the mowhawk. Small but subtle.

Now I can see too why newshane got burnt out during this time period as I had forgotten about the multiple variant covers. I am glad that since around issue 315 and going forward that the variants have slowed down to where we have been getting just 2 covers a book. It has been just so overkill in general with variants and the comic book industry that it has hurt it more than helped.

Imo looks better with the color accents, which the green also works with Spawn. Subtle

I almost always prefer the color variants, but that's just me.

I'll admit initially the black and whites caught my eye with some artists, but the color is more depth. Someone like Campbell or Jim Lee and maybe sometimes McFarlane. Yet Neal Adams? Unless it is a sketch signature series etc, the published work wasn't as attractive in black and white, although I'm tempted with OA 😂😆

Here it is, folks! 

This was the rarest of all the 220s. I used to have notes about the supposed ratios of each variant, but I can't seem to find them. That information would be suspect anyway. As mentioned before, it's pretty hard to trust the information after finding out how the publishers play games.

Amazing Fantasy 15 homage! 

Issue 220 kicked off a massive series of homage covers. I'm pretty partial to McFarlane's work, and I must say that he really knocked it out of the park with these! I can't think of a single bad homage cover in this little run of the series, and I look forward to sharing them all with you! 

These are all very desirable issues.

I don't know why anyone would call McFarlane a "bad artist." 

I love the crazy detail brought out by this particular black and white.

Tomorrow we will revisit what may very well be my favorite variant Spawn cover of all time! Stay tuned!

SPAWN 222 KURANSKI VARIANT - CGC 9.8 

Supposedly fewer than 400 copies, but who really knows? 

I remember grabbing two raw copies of this one somehow. I knew that one was a slam-dunk 9.8. Turned out both of them were. I made a good deal of coin off the extra. 

This is such a sweet cover. I love it! One of my favorite variants.
