Nice! That is one cool set of buttons. A set of 86 offered by Pep cereal in 1945-1946. They came one each in cereal boxes. You could send away for a beanie to put them on. There were several smaller sets that make up the 86. Ironically, Superman was the only character offered in all of them.

I have put together several sets.They used to be fairly easy to find. Unusally in groups. Not so much any more.

How about some Rings? These are usually the most popular among premium collectors. Some are quite common and some are real tough.

One of the "king" of the rings is the Superman contest prize ring. You couldn't just send away for it but had to win it in a contest. Circa 1940. I was very lucky to just stumble on it in a lady's jewelry case at a flea market on a rainy day. I had never seen one or knew anything about it but just had to buy it. Glad I did...

Cool, 1940's Green Hornet secret compartment ring in original mailer with papers. Impressive and large!

Sky King Mexican Aztec Ring. Circa 1950 and offered by Peter Pan Peanut Butter. Also, pretty big. Always drawn to it by the large green emerald stone. Like a lot of these, there is no marking as to the character. Makes them more exclusive and "secret". Also fun to find "in the wild" as most sellers don't know what it is.

Very rare prototype 1940's "Secret Agent Look around Ring". Has a small mirror inside. When you look through the bottom you can look forward and see to the side. I've only seen one other.

Buck Rogers Crocodile Glow in the dark ring. Glows an eerie green when exposed to light. Same ring was offered with a green stone for Jack Armstrong and a black stone for the Shadow Carey Salt ring.

1941 Lone Ranger Secret Compartment Ring. Several versions with sliding tops representing all the US armed forces.

Still looking for a Capt. Midnight "Mystic Sun God" ring. Another with a great blood red stone. Not super rare but have just not run into one I wanted to pull the trigger on.

Just a heads-up for those still into collecting B&W media or watching it in nice quality. I've just heard that VCI announced a blu-ray release of Universal's first Green Hornet serial on April 11 (no, not April 1st).  So far their "restored special edition" Blu-rays of Universal serials (Buck Jones, Gangbusters, et. al.) have been from original film elements licensed through the studio, much higher quality than 2nd or 3rd generation dubs from 16mm to which we're accustomed. I'll post a thumbs-up or down review after I check it out. In the meantime, here's one of my favorite recreated movie items, the Nautilus from Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea...
