Before my wife and I started our business, I was an Art Director for an advertising agency for 15 years and I have a nearly 20+ year background in graphic design, printing, advertising and freelance illustration. After leaving the field, I still kept the ol' skills sharp doing our own advertising and marketing for the business. Now that we are firmly established, it allows me a little more personal time to do the things I enjoy - which is either comic books or graphic design.

Years ago, I started this thread and did logo and design services for Boardies who were doing shows, conventions, opening up comic shops or wanted to upgrade their current look. I offered these services as trade-for-comics with the only cash component being for anything printed/produced. For example, if you needed a logo - I would do trade-for-comics on the time to create the logo, but you would just have to pay for the printing of your business cards. It worked out well for Boardies for many years.

I can provide you with design services, as well as produce things like business cards, brochures, postcards, flyers, retractable banners for shows, hanging banners with grommets, stickers - and just about anything that can be printed. 

I spoke with @CGC Mike regarding this, which he approved of. He also said  "it seems silly that a comic related service like this can't be allowed anywhere on the forum." Also included is the thread where I discussed this with Arch back in 2012 and that he also approved this:

The other thread requirements:

I will provide you an estimate for the time it will take for design, the trade value of those services as well as costs for any printing that you need. I have a "trade" want list that contains lots of comics of all eras, I am pretty open to most comics - with notable exclusion of DC stuff and collected works (I just don't collect them). 

The payment for work done on trade is due upon completion of the project, the payment for printing services is due before those services are rendered. If you can have the trade books in the mail within 5 days of project completion, that generally works for me.

You will be provided a proof of anything that is being produced, please review it carefully as you will be responsible for making sure all information is accurate. If there is a quality control issue in the printing, I will take care of that for you. Generally, there is nothing to 'return' in this scenario - but if there is a problem with a product or order, I will work to get it handled.

Upon completed payment/trade you own your logo. I will provide you with digital files so you can utilize it anywhere you'd like. I keep all logos on file, if you are a previous client and need a copy of your logo, just ask - I've got it!

Shipping on printed/produced materials will be disclosed on the estimate. Int’l shipping TBD

No Probies, HOSers or those on ignore

In terms of using comic book characters in your comic book marketing - the comic industry has tended to look at comic shops/sellers as a cottage industry of sorts. They do not enforce the usage/drawing/rendering of their license characters when it comes to conventions, comic book shops or sellers. While it's a trademark grey area, as long as the support materials we are producing are for promotional purposes only, it's generally looked upon as acceptable.

Maybe CGC can hire Dr Balls for some new label designs?  Wouldn't it be great if they held a Boardie design competition?!!    I want that lipstick lizard on one of my CGC labels!!
