So much talk about all his superb sci fi work and covers, but don’t forget he worked in many other genres as well…

One of the best, is his humor work in MAD. His work was featured for such a long time starting in #1 and ran for many years.

As I recall, DC was not too happy with Superduperman, and filed a copywrite infringement against EC Comics.

They must have been real busy as MAD used many other DC characters in their parodies over the years. I don't know who won the lawsuit but suspect that it was EC.

EC must have lost a LOT of lawsuits They parodied just about everything and everyone.

I know a lot of people considered it an honor to be parodied by MAD.

I would have loved to see more adventures of Superduperman.

Suit never actually occurred, if you believe Wikipedia.  I understand if you don't feel that's an ideal source, though:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superduperman

I'm pretty sure MAD has, in the end, won all the suits brought against it, even if some of those were on appeal:

Thanks for the clarification on this.

I just stumbled upon this great publication last week and got this terrific back issue devoted to Wood. Can’t believe I never heard of it before. Gotta hunt down some other issues! Anyway, this issue contains a seven part series compiled into this one issue very in depth about Wood so I had to pick it up.
