He was central to the original Age of Apocalypse event in the mid-90s and got his own TV show on FOX a few years ago. More than enough to get the 1st appearance guys all lathered up. I suspect many fans get an urge to make pottery when they see that art, then. fsumavila, delekkerste and ThothAmon 1 1

Three full seasons of episodes and critics and fans gave it nice scores. I’ve seen values spike on a rumor of a cameo. So, I get it. I think mind bending would be an appropriate term. Not normal Marvel superhero fare. Twanj and comix4fun

jjonahjameson11
It was nice to see a bounce back on prices for the Jeff Jones paintings after several years of decline. overall, I’d say it was another auction with strong results (and a few exceptions already noted, particularly with attempted quick re-sales). the OA market continues to look healthy and stable and I would also echo the sentiments of others in requesting that HA limit the number of OA offerings to 500 lots per signature auction. Nobody wants to sit through marathons, especially when the weather is so nice and there are great outdoor activities to enjoy Fischb1, ThothAmon, fsumavila and 1 other
alxjhnsn
I suspect the seller of this piece is mournful. May 2018 ~%6K June 2023 ~$4.5K Of course, that neglects the 20% off the bid of $3800 for another $760 down the hole. Total loss: $2935 ($5975 - (3800 (winning bid) - 760 (Seller's payment to HA)) Ouch. That's a loss of basically 50%. OTOH, the much more interesting Sprang recreation did well: $7800 with BP. Sprang recreation covers have been going for around $5K for a while, Batman #66 s one of the weaker covers, Batman #149 has better images of all three characters so I expected it to go on the high side. See alot of Sprang recreations in HA, seems like at least one per Signature auction. alxjhnsn

Consigner got screwed because I was planning on bidding on it but at the last minute decided I was already happy with the one I already own and didn’t need a second example. I likely wouldn’t have won but would have run it up a few ticks. alxjhnsn

I can definitely understand the price difference. Tec 149 is a great cover and just went on the want list.
