I might be wrong, but I think that might just be the way the light is reflecting off the bend in the paper as it is held beneath the staple. I'm at 4.0 for this book Yes, I think you're right. Super-zoom shows the gray dots fading into that white and when I see it that way, the bend becomes more apparent.
