Popular Post ttfitz
I have complete runs of (Uncanny) X-Men, Avengers, and nearly complete runs of Fantastic Four (#1 and #5 missing), Amazing Spider-Man (1,3, 9, and 14), Silver Age Green Lantern (#1) and Flash (112 and 132). I guess my longest run is probably Action Comics, where I have from issue 243 to present (along with all but 4 issues back to 189). Gonzimodo
Threads like this can be humbling. Every time I start to think I have a pretty decent collection, you big fish come along and show us how it's done. I started collecting in the mid-80s and have only been able to go back to the mid-70s on some of my runs. With prices as they are now, I gave up on ever trying to go back any farther and am just filling those gaps with omnibuses. I have some good, long runs, but I'm not sure which is the longest unbroken run I have. Probably Daredevil from about issue 100 to present. I can't think of any other title that doesn't still have gaps here and there where I lost interest and never went back to fill in the holes. thehumantorch, ttfitz, mec3437 and 1 other

Popular Post Zonker
I'm impressed with the multiple people here who have been keeping up with the Legion continuously since Adventure #247. I never had the earliest appearances, but all the continuity shenanigans since the first Crisis made me starting in the late 1980s. My longest continuous run is probably Detective Comics #327-520. My most significant continuous run is probably Green Lantern #1-89, since I consider it a complete run prior to the mid-1970s relaunch. Detective Comics - 400 to present I was going to work on a full run of Uncanny X-Men, because I have 94 to current, with quite a few of the earlier issues in low grades. (I'm missing the Victor Gischler vampire series, which kind of, sort of doesn't count, anyway, but other than that, I think I have a complete run.) Then I sold my coverless, hole-punched #1, and there's no way I'll ever spend the money to get another /better one. I bought the first two omnibuses so I can at least read the whole series, and now I'll probably sell off my pre-94 issues. (Probably. Sometimes it's hard to let go...) F For Fake
At one time I decided I wanted to own every Batman comic from the Post-Crisis era to what was current. Eventually that became an unbroken run of 400-713, plus all of the corresponding spin-offs (LotDK, SotB, Nightwing, Robin, etc) and every one-shot and miniseries, and included the complete New 52 run (plus all variants), into Rebirth. And then one day I just decided that I was done, and I sold them all. I was tired of buying the new books that I wasn't really interested anymore, and I was tired of the space that the runs took up versus hardcovers and trades that I could display on a shelf. So it's all gone now, every bit of it, and honestly I don't miss it. The only regret is that there is still a large chunk not collected in HC as of yet, but I'm hopeful that we'll get there. The post-Crisis series of Caped Crusader and Dark Knight Detective trade paperbacks were very popular, selling out and going crazy in value, so I'm hopefully we'll eventually get those in omni. The only other long runs I had were X-men, from GSX 1 until 282, which is when I stopped reading (the first time.) I don't own many "regular" comics anymore, but the few that I have left include long runs of LoSH (complete set of the Baxter series through Five Years Later) and Justice League International, which I keep because I would probably have to pay someone to take them. mec3437, batman_fan, Ken Aldred and 1 other

I had a complete post-Crisis Superman run like that, with every series, miniseries, one-shot, and everything in between that was published from 1986 to about 2000, and I sold it all for pennies on the dollar in the early 2000s. I sometimes wish I would have kept some of it, but I know I would probably never go back and read it, anyway. I just need to keep telling myself that and clear out some of the thousands of comics that are now taking over my basement... mec3437, BA773, F For Fake and 1 other

Yeah, that's really a big part of why I finally let it go, the realization that the day was likely never going to come that I would sit down and re-read 30 years of Batman stories. And even if I did, most of them were in a nice collected format. So, the need to maintain the library removed, coupled with the amount of space it took up, it was surprisingly easy to let it go. The last hold outs were my complete run of Kelley Jones issues, including newsstands, and I finally let those go a few months ago, as we have most of that run collected in HC. Much rather have them on a shelf where I can pull them out and look anytime, as opposed to a box. Gonzimodo, BA773 and Ken Aldred

Popular Post Crimebuster
I have Avengers #1-503 plus annuals. I really should probably get rid of the last 40 issues or so and end with the Kurt Busiek run though. I was going to say that's my longest run, but I realized it isn't. It is just barely longer than my run of Jughead, which is vol. 1 #84-352, vol. 2 #1-214, and vol. 3 #1-16, for 499 consecutive issues. But my longest run is actually Archie #156-713, which is 558 consecutive issues. I'm currently working my way back to #50, as I think it will be cost prohibitive to try and complete beyond that point. Popular Post ADAMANTIUM
I've tried to be a run collector, I really have! I got the first "3" appearances of the Punisher in Mark Jeweler. I'm currently working on X-men #94 - 143 with only about 9 books left to obtain, then maybe a few upgrades. Which is only about 53 books, including the "annuals" part of the run and the GSXM. Good news are the one's I'm missing, well most of them, aren't too terribly expensive ie I have the "keys" I do have the 30 cent variants of the X-men run, but no 35 centers. Popular Post Stefan_W
I had the entire Fantastic Four Vol 1 run except for five issues before I decided to sell them off. A big chunk of them were mine from when I was a kid collecting comics as they came out, and the rest I bought when I was older and had some more cash to spend on comics. But then, as an adult, I decided there are other comics I wanted more (plus the storage space on a few long boxes of run fillers took up too much room) so I moved on. jdandns, onlyweaknesskryptonite, Gonzimodo and 4 others

Popular Post jdandns
In sheer number of issues, it's probably Uncanny X-Men for me as I have it from around #20 through somewhere in the 400's (less an occasional issue here and there and the reprint run from 67-93). Totally uninterrupted, from the Bongo Comics line, I have Simpsons 1-245, plus Bart Simpson 1-100, plus Futurama 1-83, and Spongebob Squarepants 1-85, Treehouse of Horror 1-23, the various Radioactive Man series, and all of the mini-series and one-shots which constitute well over another 100 comics. I've also got all Swamp Things, the 171 issue series that started in the early 80's, plus the 1970's series before it, and the several that followed it, which all-told, constitute another 100+ issues. Runner-up would probably be Daredevil, which I have from the first Frank Miller issue (#158) to somewhere in the 300's I've also got Incredible Hulk from around 290 through the end of the Peter David run, which I think would make for about 160 issues straight. Popular Post universal soldier
ASM #1, 3- current including annuals. I plan on aquiring a #2 ASAP so that will be completed before end of year. I also have full runs of all the other major Spider-man titles, all volumes (Web, Spectacular, Peter Parker, Marvel Team-up, Friendly Neighborhood etc...) with the exception of Marvel Tales. Uncanny X-men #94 - 544 and slowly picking away at the reprints. I should be able to get back to 50 with too much trouble. A bunch of other titles have smaller/medium size runs nearing completion. FF #40 - 300 (Need 24 issues) Incredible Hulk #102 - 250 (Need 18 issues) Conan #1 - 120 (need 9 issues) Runs of Thor, Iron Man and Captain Marvel (V1) are in lesser states of completion but I have some good pockets and keys already.
