The first issue was drawn in pencils only. Considering series like SAGA that came after this (another incredible read) have almost literally no published art, pencils only are better than nothing!

p.s. the guy on the toilet is Invincible (:

Yes Phil, I know -- I bought the first 30 or so issues when they came out.

How much would this page be if he was in costume? 🤔

I thought the toilet page would go for about the same as the "on the phone" page from issue 5, but the toilet/issue 1 combo bumped the price up 50%.

Yeah it's a bloodbath if you account for the time value of money.

I'm guessing this is something that, like BWS Conan art, is not going to appeal to @Xatari and friends (i.e., the newer generation of collectors).:sorry:

Writing and story factor in. I read the early issues of Invincible almost 20 years ago and never finished the series but I still remember this page because it was unexpectedly dumb and amusing. This moment gets a significant callback later in the series too.
