PLEASE HELP - ENTIRE COLLECTION OF OVER 200 SLABS STOLEN

Hello CGC Forums,

On December 7th 2023, my fiancé and I were victims of a mass theft that occurred at a Public Storage facility in Lemon Grove, CA (San Diego).

The thieves that broke in stole our entire collection of comics books (raw & graded). The collection consisted of about a dozen shortboxes of raw books (mostly all modern) and several BCW boxes of graded books. CGC was nice enough to provide me with a detailed list of every comic book I have had graded/slabbed by them so that I could compile a more detailed list of what was stolen from our collection which I was able to give to the police who are investigating the crime. We are working with the police to bring these people to justice and to hopefully recover what was stolen.

We have reached out to private collectors/buyers on Craigslist, OfferUp, eBay and have been in steady contact with all of the local comic book shops in our area, as well multiple pawn shops. We have also been in contact with the team at Shortboxed and the legal team at CGC. But even after all this, we are concerned that the thieves are attempting to sell our comics to private collectors. Our post on social media has gone "viral" with over 200k views however we have not gotten a single lead from it. We did receive a lead from Craiglslist when the thieves attempted to sell 50+ slabs to a collector in LA however the sale never went through so the police were not able to catch them. We also received a lead from someone via Facebook who noticed one of our books for sale on eBay which allowed us to contact the shop owner and get 4 of our stolen slabs back. We also got the store owner in contact with the police who were then able to get some good information on the people he got them from in San Diego. Even after all this though, we are hoping that by posting on these forums, that others in the community can also keep a lookout for anyone attempting to sell our stolen comics.

I am attaching the updated list of stolen slabs to this post. If you happen to notice anyone trying to pass the listed items off as their own, please contact Detective Vlahakis at the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Department immediately (619-660-7054). Also, please feel free to pass the lists to anyone you may know in the community that deals in purchasing large collections of comics and/or collectibles.

Thank you,
Matt & Dina
