DC comics was the undisputed king of psychologically effed up comic covers in the 60s.... Lois Lane tricking a very reluctant Superman into marriage;  And Superman triumphantly flaunting his rejection of her in the most hurtful ways. You have to wonder if the DC editors were seriously messed up, and/or were they trying to mess with the heads of pre-pubescent readers.

Hey! I learned everything I needed to know about women as a kid from reading "Superman" family comics!

I can't remember where I saw it, but it was pointed out to me that not only does this book look crazy at first glance, it just keeps getting crazier and crazier the longer you look at it.  Total gaze into the abyss stuff.

I lament the loss of the 'Superman is a D*ck' website which had hundreds of examples with wisecracking observations. The site was at superdickery.com but no longer exists. 'twas great!
