First Wonder Wart-Hog strip by fabled underground artist Gilbert Shelton:

Shelton also did a Bull o' Fuzz strip which appeared in Drag Cartoons on a more haphazard basis.

The Wonder Wart-Hog strip must have been popular with readers because it rated a cover mention a mere four months later:

Millar Publications then launched the short-lived but now fabled Wonder Wart-Hog magazine late in 1966:

The gig with Millar Publications a big break was the first big break for Gilbert Shelton. 

I was buying The Fabulous Furry Freak Bros. and  Fat Freddy's Cat comix whenever I saw them in the head shops on Yonge Street in Toronto in the late 1970's.

One of these is the first appearance of Wednesday Addams. Much of the Addams Family started from disconnected cartoons. And their appearances kind of evolved as he started reusing them. Eventually, Chas Addams brought them together as a true family, and many didn't even get named until the show came out.
