Popular Post lpsunburst
Perhaps CGC is using the wrong terms or perhaps should introduce the classification of "Iconic". For example, one of these is, in my mind at least, a classic while the other is truly "Iconic". "Classic" vs "Iconic" - Now that could be a fun poll to take on individual books both in comics and in pulps. Cushing Fan

Better for CGC to just not make any judgement at all about the cover art. Edited June 22 by Sarg typo PopKulture
Popular Post Bookery
At the early pulp conventions, the official terms for cover-art like this was "Neat-O" and "Nifty". Of course those collectors were rather old. These terms, however, replaced "The Bees-Knees cover art" employed by the prior generation. Since you were discussing the subject, I always considered "classic" to trump "icon". I also consider "classic" to possibly also draw from the content, where an "icon" cover is based on style and execution of the cover art only ... it could have a commode instructional inside. Darwination
Well, at least they aren't going to be using that designation too often Ricksneatstuff, Point Five and Cushing Fan
Popular Post waaaghboss
Looks like they updated the info on this label. The all story they used in their pulp grading preview video just said Clinton Pettee, now they added classic cover. But no mention of the lion 😕 OtherEric, Darwination, Point Five and 3 others 3 1

There’s not one person - not one - who collected pulps prior to 2000 that ever referred to this as a “classic cover.” Please… find me an instance. Grow up. Who’s deciding what constitutes a classic cover these days?? Beavis and Butthead? Huh-huh-huh-huh naked chicks rule! Yeah-yeah, skulls kick azz ! CGC just needs to stop. Popular Post Flex Mentallo
I offloaded what few pulps years ago when I realized I was allergic to pulp paper! Kept a scan of this one, though. No idea who owns it now. The cover is by the wonderfully named Graves Gladney. adamstrange, Ricksneatstuff, jimjum12 and 7 others
Flex Mentallo
I was grateful when Girasol published good facsimiles though, and bought a few. I'm not allergic to this paper ('pulps' become 'slicks'!). Would the originals of these be considered classic covers I wonder? I'll post a few, let the jury decide! Randall Dowling
