Just a friendly heads-up.

I bought the Church Mystery Men 11 in the Berk auction, only to find out the spine splits were almost twice as long in-hand as advertised. It's back up on the block, without a revised description. They took a return without a problem, and maybe this is just an oversight, but prospective bidders should know that the write-up is not accurate.

Looks like your words of caution here did not really hurt the final price of the book as it still managed to sell at multiples of condition guide at $3,855:

Not as much as the $5,700 or whatever you had originally bid on the book during the Jon Berk auction, but pretty much the same as what the then highest graded 9.0 copy of this book managed to sell for a few months ago back in September on CC for only a piddly $3,900.  Since then, it appears that this CGC 9.0 graded copy has now been reslabbed as a "newly minted" CGC 9.2 graded copy and successfully resold on the WW website for $7,250:

I will never own any of the 9.0 types and I can only admire them...this is the best I can do;) but they are neat.

Doesn't really matter with some of these later Fox books as they just seem to be so tough to find in any condition at all.  :cloud9:

Any copy which you can get your hands on, even in low or mid grade condition, is still better than no copy at all.  (thumbsu

Any idea if these 2 Mystery Men books are being resold by Ritter using the Heritage platform or is the buyer of these 2 books trying to do a quick flip to make some money on them:

All I can say is that if it is a buyer trying to do a quick flip for profit, I am not sure how much luck he's going to have considering that both of these books had been sitting on Ritter's WorldWide site at relative nosebleed prices for several months:

http://www.wwcomics.com/comic_search_results.asp?txtsearchParamType=ANY&prodnameplural=mystery+men&issue=Issue+%23

With the MM 6 and the MM 11 apparently "selling" for $22K and $7,250 respectively, I don't know how much more profit there is still left in these 2 copies here.  Especially since they were both purchased (by Ritter, I would assume) for something much less at price points of $14K+ and $3,900 respectively from the CC Event Auctions within just the past several months.

Doesn't anybody ever hold onto their books anymore or do they simply request that they be forwarded straight to the next auction house for immediate resale.  (shrug)

I hold on to everything. Some as long as over 40 years. It's a disease I tell ya. Much to the disappointment of a lot of boardies here  :preach:

Well, it must be contagious then since it sounds as though I have the same disease as you.  9_9

After life’s circumstances forced me to sell 10 years ago, I’ve come back into the hobby 2 yrs ago and cannot believe the prices now. My pre-Robin Tecs? Not reaquiring those any time soon. That Action 1 I let go? Fuggedabout it. The AF 15 I always wanted? That ship has sailed. But since this is a Fox thread, let me also say I never thought I’d have to pay $6k for a 4.5 copy of Science 2!! Oh, well.  I only ever did it for fun anyway.

Rant over
