Less than 18 days away.

"The Paradise Toronto Comicon is the single best convention we put on last year. I expect that 2007 will be the same." Posted by me on the Jinxworld Forums earlier this evening.

HUGE guest announcement coming soon.

Here's the link to the floorplan. I'll be announcing the seating arrangements closer to the event as there are always last minute changes. http://torontocomicon.com/download/2007paradisecomiconfloorplanweb.mht

The room is the same size, but will be a lot more packed than 2006. There's...

120 10ft by 10ft Dealer booths (same as 2006).

40 10 ft x 10ft Corporate/Publisher booths (twice as many as in 2006)

PLUS an additional 12 10ft. x 10ft. booths near the front of the hall for:

- CGC

- 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer (plus two MASSIVE displays for FF2:ROSS and The Simpsons Movie).

- Evil Dead: The Musical

- Toronto Star

- Dave Sim's Photorealism exhibit

42 8ft x 8ft Guest booths surround the Artists Alley - 2 of these booths (GA13 & GA14) have been set aside for special signings, like the Trish Stratus signing (Saturday 11am-1pm) and the To-be-announced Special Guests's Saturday afternoon signing.

92 6ft x 6ft Artist's Alley booths.

The new 40ft x 24ft Toronto Star Bullpen - A 40 x 24 area for reading sessions, art classes, etc. for younger fans. Part of the Comics for Kids theme. On Saturday younger fans will be able to make their own comics page courtesy of the Comic Book Masters instructors --- they will be setting up workstations where kids will be able to move from station to station learning how to create a comic book page and at the end be able to walk out with something they created themselves.

Amazingly enough, this is NOT the special guest that I was referring to, but I have ANOTHER special guest announcement to make, confirmed just minutes ago:

The return of 2005 Paradise Comicon Guest of Honour:

Jerry Robinson

Few comic book artists can say that they were present at the birth of the medium. Jerry Robinson's long and varied career started as an assistant on Bob Kane's Batman, where he came up with various aspects of the character, including the Joker and the name for Batman's sidekick, Robin. He moved into syndicated comics with his Still Life daily panel and his Sunday strip, Flubs and Fluffs. He has been instrumental in obtaining creator's rights, especially in relation to Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and suggested creation of the Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comic Book Writing at Comic-Con.

Jerry will be a guest at the convention all weekend and will be attending the Joe Shuster Awards ceremony on June 9th!

Oh, I'm so hoping for the Silver Surfer standee, and The Simpsons' couch.

Have you seen the Silver Surfer standee that's upstairs at the Scotiabank Theatre? That thing is crazy. I want it SO BAD. Wish I was "connected" and could get my hands on it.

Paradise Toronto Comicon rolls back prices in 2007!

Tickets now available for puchase on the main page of the convention website through Paypal!

www.torontocomicon.com

Paradise Conventions has decided to roll back prices to the 2005 level due to the HUGE interest out there for the 2007 Paradise Toronto Comicon on June 8-10, 2007 in Hall C at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place --- Toronto's LARGEST Comic book only show, A 60,000+ SQUARE FOOT CELEBRATION OF COMIC BOOKS, MANGA, GRAPHIC NOVELS AND SEQUENTIAL ART, now in it's 5TH FABULOUS YEAR as a 3-Day comic book show.

Plus, now that we have moved to June, you get to see Toronto during it's best - warm weather makes for a great road trip for those of you located outside of the Greater Toronto Area. For our American friends who come up this is one of the cheapest admission prices for a large show of this quality you will find during convention season!

We also know that each day of the convention holds something a little different for comic fans.

FRIDAY 3PM - 8PM

Whether you need to be the first to the dealers to find the books you need for your collection, or be the first on the guests' commission lists. Friday's Preview Night (3PM - 8PM) is the night when the excitement begins. We'll also be running the exclusive Stan Lee video interview from last year and some great comedy films courtesy of SRProductions!

SATURDAY 10AM - 6:30PM

Saturday is THE big day for the Paradise Toronto Comicon --- it's the day of the 2nd Annual Women of Comics Symposium, the special Strangers in Paradise wrap panel and party, the 25th Anniversary of Grendel panel, all of the guests are scheduled to appear, Max the Mutt Animation School Comic Book Workshops with comics professionals, plus the new COMICS FOR KIDS TORONTO STAR BULLPEN and our other panels and special events. Saturday (10AM - 6:30PM) ends with the Joe Shuster Awards presentation over at the Holiday Inn on King (8PM-10PM), which is free to those who have a pass (of any kind) for the Paradise Toronto Comicon.

SUNDAY 11AM-5PM

Sunday is the day for bin diving! Your last chance to find the collectibles missing from your list, to catch up with the guests, to make your way through Artists Alley to see the cutting edge and the next great comic book creators, or to catch a panel! Plus Comic Book Masters will be running some great comic book drawing workshops and the COMICS FOR KIDS TORONTO STAR BULLPEN will still be going strong. Art collectors take note that Sunday is the concluding day of the Annual SILENT COMIC ART AUCTION with funds raised to benefit the Hero Initative and the North York Harvest Food Bank. Sunday should be a fun wrap-up to another amazing year of the Paradise Toronto Comicon.

2007 ADMISSION PRICES (All Prices in Canadian dollars):

Tickets can now be purchased online using Paypal. Please note that no physical tickets will be issued or mailed to you --- YOU MUST PRINT OUT YOUR PAYPAL RECEIPT AND BRING IT TO THE COMICON BOX OFFICE TO PICK UP YOUR PASS.

1-Day Pass: $15

Can't make it all three days? The single day pass gets you in on the day of your choice and gives you FULL access to that day's events.

2-Day Pass: $25

Got to work late on Friday night? Have a prior obligation on Saturday or Sunday? No worries. The 2-Day Pass gets you in on the days you can make it for the show, and you save $5 in the process. This gives you FULL access to the events on the days you attend.

3-Day Pass: $30

For the Comic Book Super-Fan, the 3-Day pass is your COMPLETE access to everything at Comicon. As a BONUS thank-you to all who purchase the 3-Day pass we will give you one of our EXCLUSIVE Comicon variants from 2005 or 2006 (AS LONG AS SUPPLIES LAST). So not only do you get in three days for the price of TWO, you also get an exclusive variant!

ALSO, please note that ALL CHILDREN AGED 12 AND UNDER GET IN FREE when accompanied by a paying admission. The 2007 Paradise Toronto Comicon promises to be fun for the whole family of comic book fans, and this year's special COMICS FOR KIDS TORONTO STAR BULLPEN promises to be fun for the younger set!

No gimmicks required. Just straight-forward prices for straight-forward fun and excitement, without the long lines and disappointment at being treated like a piece of cattle. Our commitment to you is that we put on the kind of show WE would want to attend... because you know we're COMIC FANS ourselves.
