CAP Freak
Captain America. 1st appearance over like 15th app. Robin is lame and Hitler cover is great.
Straw-Man
Captain America. 1st appearance over like 15th app. Robin is lame and Hitler cover is great. a great deal of pithy analysis in this short post. exactly. and if robin isn't lame as depicted on the cover, give bats about a half-hour with him at the cave and check him again. seank
Batman 1. Grail book in high grade. First Joker and Catwoman trumps lame sidekick.

ashrael
Amazing Comics #1 over Atomic #1 (still don't care who owned a comic at some point) Captain America #1 over Batman #1 (1st Cap > 1st Joker, but a tough one)
rjpb
Both seem to be among the most common of key books. I'd probably rather own a Cap #1 - and S&K Hitler cover is a bonus. But 1st Joker & Catwoman is a pretty cool as well, and outside the hobby - the value of the 1st issue of Batman would be more readily understood than Cap #1. Still, in the end I like Timely over DC - so Cap #1 by a nose.
rjpb
Schomburg Timely with green cover... nuff said Yep - but I can't see paying that much for either book - even if I could easily afford both.
telerites
Wish I could have both but since I've never been been a DC guy - why change now - Cap #1 for me.
Silver Surfer
I got with Batman 1, by slim margin That's what Robin said. "Robin ruins the Bat franchise for years to come" is what it should say on the cover.

ciorac
sensation #1, better book in every way. I am in total agreement with Matt on this one. Sensation #1 is a classic cover, anthology, a couple of first apps, and the continuation of WW from All Star. What's not to love?
