CGC ALL SCREWED UP

258 posts in this topic

No grades on them is there? In my initial comment no lower graded books sell here unless there in high demand. Key words lower graded.

Just my opinions is all dont get me wrong we loved spending 162.00 to get back 96.00 in ospg value. I should buy stock in the company I would make more?

Did someone force you to send them in? Did you have to send low grade issues? Did you have to pay more than their value?

When I see the name "Nascar" I think of Talledega Nights the Legend of Ricky Bobby with Will Ferrell....

"Dear Lord Baby Jesus, all newborn and small and unable to talk yet still omnipotent. Please shine your glorious light of benificience on me and let these substandard, roughed up, foxed, chipped and otherwise beat on books be transmogrified into the 9.6's I feel them to be in my heart....praise the lord and pass the cornbread"

Here's Nascar's (excuse me....warnme14's) original selling thread where he tried to foist these books on people at full price, completely ignoring criticisms of the grading:

http://boards.collectors-society.com/sho...part=1&vc=1

Then he disappears and comes back as nascar to post the exact same books:

http://boards.collectors-society.com/sho...part=1&vc=1

Bottom line, you're trolling, Nascar, and my prediction is your next step is going to be selling these books on Ebay as NM hoping some poor schmuck pays full price for these garbage.

Kinda what I thought when I saw his marketplace thread. I just looked at the first book, saw price and moved on. Early *spoon* of the year award goes to...drumroll...nascar.

I've sent in a few books myself and most of the time I come within .5 grade of what I suspect the book to be, but then I'm a pretty conservative grader.

Judging by the scans you sent nearmint - you are NOT. tongue.gif

In no particular order...

(1) I saw some of your books in the Marketplace and almost every single one was close to a beater...but they were being sold as 9.0s and better. They were in fact in the 4.0-6.0 range.

(2) I'm as critical as the next man of our hosts...when they deserve it...but my memory says that the most we have ever been apart on any book, whether submitted by myself, or bought already slabbed, was two points on the scale e.g 9.0 instead of 9.4, or vice versa.

(3) The inference in a number of your posts was that you feel as though you've been 'had' by CGC. This is simply not the case. The problem is that your perception of what constitutes 'high grade' does not fit with anyone else trading in the marketplace and instead of doing your homework (there's a great resource here that allows you to get the opinions of hundreds of people before spending your money on grading fees), you laid out the money and now want to berate CGC for taking it from you?

(4) Please stop moaning about the market placing desirability and premium prices on just high grade books...which you now discover that you don't own. People always get more enthusiastic, and pay more money, for the best examples of anything. Unless you're Paul McCartney, obviously.... tongue.gif
