  1. I'm seeing the Walking Dead Image Firsts and Weekly #1 going above $20 now. Pretty crazy.
  2. Back from DWC. The Flash 105 was expected, but the Detective surprised me (expected 6.0). I paid $20 for that book years ago, so I'm pretty happy.
  3. I'm definitely unhappy to see this and will give CGC a call tomorrow to see what they can do. I spent $85 to get this graded, and the least they could have done it put in the holder correctly. It was lying flat in a mylar for months before that.
  4. My low grade mega key wall is nearly complete. I am just planning on swapping the ST 110, with a FF 1, which is being graded. The final spot is for AF 15 (just purchased). I want a JIM 83 and Hulk 1, but there's no room for those. ::
  5. Not as good as Greggy's stuff, but I just got my second submission ever back. Huge thanks goes to joeypost for getting these done for me at Megacon. I got these 3 from this board. They came back great, and right on the money with the grades, except the B&B 28, which has a trimmed edge. These are all flea market finds (no book cost over $10). Finally, this was from eBay awhile back. Sold as a NM. While, I was very happy with the grade on this, I was really disappointed with how it was placed in the holder. The book had a tear by the missile, but it wasn't folded. When CGC placed it into the holder, they apparently folded the tear, which looks pretty ugly.
  6. Thanks guys! My 2nd submission is already on its way. Those came out great, too. Still waiting on my DWC NYCC submission though.
  7. Most of the 2nd half of my 1st submission arrived today. Almost everything was right on the money. Huge surprise on this one. Everyone, including me, was calling it a 5.0. This was the only disappointment (expected a 9.0), but I just looked at the price difference and its not too bad at all. Overall, my 1st submission was great with the exception of 2 books (the Hulk 180 and a WD 2 that came back 9.0), which isn't too bad at all. I shouldn't complain at all, since most of the books I sent in were super cheap (no book cost more than $40).
  8. Seeing #2 @ 9.8 go for makes me sad that mine came back so low (it was prescreened at 9.6/9.8). Still, I didn't really pay anything for it thanks for Branget and the great deal he gave me on 2-86 a while back. Seeing the prices of #1 makes me glad that I bought 3-4 raw copies of WD #1 when they were going for $250-300. They all came back 9.4 to 9.6. One is still being graded. *fingers crossed*
  9. This one is just ridiculously high. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item3f1363442d&item=270908212269&nma=true&pt=US_Comic_Books&rt=nc&si=blXUZuQLGR%252BbOtgLLf%252FGsoN4AUc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_879wt_1272 Maybe its the error he initially made. Makes me kind of regret selling my CGC 9.4 SS for only $675.
  10. I found this at a LCS I don't frequent too often, but its a deal, so I'll post it here. The guy had Batman 608 on his wall for $8. He also threw in the ASM hardcover for free (he said he's been giving them out to customers who buy something). The Batman 608 is at least a 9.6, but I think it has a shot at a 9.8. I'm going to wait to grade it, since I want to get it Signature Series.
  11. Not a flea market this time. I found these at a local show for $8 total. WD #61 is a solid 9.8.
  12. Not a comic, but I guess I'll chime in one more time. I got for $25. Its the 1992 Bowen Batman Full Size statue (normally fetches $250-400).
  13. my flea markets have coverless moderns for $50 displayed in a freezer bag. Alot of times when I'm looking through people's junky beat up modern and bronze boxes, I start thinking the same thing, but alot of times it pays to keep digging. I found that the decent stuff is usually hidden within the junk.
  14. Nothing major, but some of this week's find. 50 cents each at a local store. Near complete Nick Fury, Steranko run for $40 total from a local flea market! All books VG to FN and its only missing issue 18.
  15. I'm pretty surprised with the value of some Toon Tumblers as well. I picked up a couple at a convention a while back for myself, and recently had to sell them to raise some cash. I was able to pull almost $40+ for just the Nova one, which was really surprising to me.
  16. Damn, seeing those Banes going for nearly $100, makes me regret selling one here 2-3 months ago for $40. I found it at a flea market for $1, so I guess I can't complain. I'm tempted to sell my personal copy since its going for so much. I got it when it was going for less than $5 a few years ago, but Bane is one of my favorite characters, so I might hang on to it.
  17. I'm not going to post complete collection pictures until I get the grails I mentioned. I'll show you mine,if you show me yours? I, at least, have to clean the room first. My displays are being blocked by the mess. You see, this could be a good thing, you get to clean house and we get to google at your collection Fine here are 2 more pictures to hold you off. The rest will have to wait. ::
  18. After looking for a different issue I stumbled on an invoice from this seller. I purchased a Chew 1 from him, he is based in the UK. I got my book in a timely manner and was graded as presented. I think there were three buyers in that thread. Did he initially tell you why you didn't receive the book? Did you use PayPal? I used Paypal. I repeatedly asked him for a tracking number or any proof that he shipped it, and he kept putting it off. He didn't give me any reason why it didn't arrive. He also made no attempt to work with me in any way. He basically took the money and ran. The other person who bought the Chew 1, told me that his book arrived in lower grade than described.

  21. Now show us the rest of the room! (thumbs u Not yet. I still need to get a couple of grail books before my room is complete. I bet your room is currently in a mess What grails are you after? Not many more. I've knocked out about 10 books in the past 6 months and have another 6 left: Funnies on Parade, Journey into Mystery 83, Showcase 22, Adventure 247, Amazing Fantasy 15 and Hulk 1. Here's a small preview of the collection. One of the best statues in my collection.
  22. Do you mean hardware or software? Software is easy since its all available online. Hardware just depends on what the person wants to spend, but I can post all the hardware needed if that's what you need.
  23. Now show us the rest of the room! (thumbs u Not yet. I still need to get a couple of grail books before my room is complete.
  24. Since we're on the topic of MAME machines, here's mine. It cost me about $300 to put together and is well worth every penny. I have hundreds of great classics on it, and it looks great on display. Its an old picture, and I've fixed it up alittle more since then. I'd recommend to anyone looking to get an arcade machine to consider making one of these. All you need is an old, empty cabinet, a tube TV, a decent desktop computer and a couple of other small things. Its a great, fun project.
