  1. And you got the pages, I was foaming at the mouth for. I'm still happy with the two pages I bought, especially with the last page of the issue. Frank and Chris were very cool. Its good to see that the series is doing well. Frank was telling me about the legacy numbering and it sounds like a great idea. It can allow the title to grow.
  2. This is one of my regular LCS, but is 45 minutes away. I still have time to go though.
  3. +1 Sold an X-Men #14, and everything went perfect.
  4. Wow, I didn't think Tekken had such a following. That machine I have is loaded with mostly Street Fighter games. I'm definitely a bigger Street Fighter fan and was addicted to playing SFIV and Street Fighter X Tekken. I'm not amazing, but definitely not that bad.
  5. And thanks for the comments everyone. It took me a while to get the basement the way I wanted.
  6. Very cool Scarlet Spider statue, never saw one before. Killer room. The Scarlet Spider is from Bowen, and I think its the only statue out there of the character.
  7. The machine isn't really Tekken. Its a MAME machine that I built which has multiple games on it. I'm more of a Street Fighter/Capcom person. The picture isn't clear, but that's Street Fighter Alpha 3 on the screen. I only used a Tekken marquee because the person who sold me the empty cabinet, gave me it for free.
  8. Possibly. I have the Joker exclusive (sitting in its box) and have the Ivy exclusive on order. The Batman is going to have a very high edition size, so I'm going to try to get it cheaper on the secondary market.
  9. Split this into 2 posts to make things easier. X-23 isn't going to stay much longer. I need to get rid of that treadmill Very dusty, but not worth dusting. My two favorite art pieces: Original watercolor from Shelly Moldoff. Original Batman sketch from Michael Turner. I'm waiting for someone to quote this post, just to make everyone mad.
  10. I'll share my basement/geekroom pictures. Not all comics. Mostly statues (most relating to comics), and some other geeky stuff. My comic collection was purged last year, and what you see if basically all that remains. I might take the Anime stuff down soon. Crappy quality. I took pictures with my iPhone. View when you first walk into the basement. Stuff on table Books on side wall Behind door
  11. I think he meant the preview sketch How can you sell a con exclusive and act like you're making a "pretty penny" on a title. ugh Some people just like to read the book before the general public and it doesn't mean the book will increase in value This "con exclusive" was free at the NYCC retailer breakfast and it was probably easy to get more than one of them, since most people who had it, thought the book was going to be worthless, and probably sold them really cheap. I saw dealers at the show were selling this book for under $10 (while the Bedlam sketch was almost $100), so anyone who picked this up months ago, probably did make money.
  12. Wow, I had no idea Helheim would ever be desirable. The copy I have, I was trying to sell at shows in the $2 bin and had it up on my VCC thread for $5, and no interest. A couple of weeks after VCC, I started to get flooded with pms. This explains those pms. Should I hold on to it or sell it now? This is completely like found money, so I might sell now. No, I won't sell it to somewhere here for tree fiddy (or something in that area).
  13. I'm at day 16 on mine now. I'm sure they'll go out by Friday. Update. They've shipped today. I never have any worries with anything aside from economy.
  14. Walking Deads never seems to make your lists, hard to see Bedlam as more of a popular book than Walking Dead. Because I specifically filter out Walking Dead. It's so damn huge is engulfs everything else. What do you want me to tell you? Walking Dead is hot? It's trending up? Well... it is. I wonder if you can do a Walking Dead-only filter to report which issues are hot these days? Obviously 1 and 19, but I wonder about the legs of other issues such as 27, 33, 48, 61, 92, etc. Also, I wonder if not reporting WD issues creates a false sense of WD collectability fading with those that read your reports (which I very much enjoy, thanks!)? Yah what he dane323 says, there are many minor keys and scarce variants within the run. I'm sure there is some shuffling around with the demand on those books as characters are released on the show. You have an innovative web site going, you could just create a Walking Dead sub catagory. If there was no Walking Dead then there would be no Image speculation. Let`s never forget Walking Dead is the master that started all this, and is the barometer. Walking Dead will be the last to fall if the bubble ever does burst. If we ever see Walking Dead`s selling in dollar bins, then we will know the bubble has popped. you may want to amend this slightly as i can buy every non-variant #100 in the 50 ct bin at my LCS. I've been finding alot of books from 100 and up in the 50 cent and dollar bins. i find that very surprising unless the books are damaged.... oh, lemme amend that, I did get some NM issues in like the 97-99 rnage out of one of my shops' 3 for $5 boxes after 100 came out, so not quite a $1 box. The WD I find, look like pretty solid copies. I've found them in a few places. Most of those places are notorious for giving great deals though.

  17. Step 1: Report to local consumer affairs Step 2: Send in a secret shopper Step 3: Eat lots of popcorn as you watch the store close Would that be the B.B.B. Its funny how you guys mention the BBB. I just filed a complaint about the store I mentioned initially. I want them to, in the very least, change their policy after this whole thing.
  18. I guess its just bothering me that they kept lying and were so in my face about it.
  19. I can understand you being disappointed. But furious? They're not obliged to sell you anything... and you got 3 books. I'm sure alot of people would be furious if they were in my shoes. I think that unless there is a policy in the store that would have stopped me from buying the 3 remaining copies, then he was basically obliged to sell me the books. Otherwise, its a terrible business practice, and I'm sure most people who own a business agree. Its not my fault that he didn't do his research on the book. When I first got here I sold a comic for $85, and had someone else offer me almost 10 times that before I shipped the book to the other person, but I didn't make up an excuse not to sell the first person the book, because that's bad business.
  20. I had a similar experience a few months ago with a store I use to buy Pokemon cards from when I was 12. "I don't give a ef you only buy whats hot" was definitely yelled at me. You just have to be careful when you are speculating because you don't want to tread in too much water. I guess alot of smaller stores are fine with losing customers for a couple of hundred bucks or less.
  21. I think if you only tried to buy two copies it would have been fine. Three copies of the same book from a new customer who doesn't have a pull list is suspicious. I go in there plenty, and spend $50+ every time. Obviously, that's not going to happen anymore.
  22. I really need to vent a LCS story. I was a store with a couple of friends yesterday, and bought 2 copies of Mind MGMT #1 based on a couple of posts I saw on this thread. Later I saw that the book was selling for alot more, so I went back to try and get the remaining copies of it from the store. A family member suggested coming with me, but I told them no since I had no problem getting 2 copies yesterday. Of course, when I got to the store, and tried to get the 4 copies, the store worker started to look at the books, and get suspicious. One of the employees literally went on eBay RIGHT IN FRONT ME (the screen was facing me), and looked up the book, and whispered to the guy that the book is now a $60 book, which of course I heard. He then told me that the store has a limit of 1 copy on new books, which is apparently a policy that was implemented less than 24 hours ago, because I bought 2 copies of the book yesterday. I told him I drove 30 mins to get there and need to get at least 2 copies (1 more for me, 1 for my friend) and would even pay alittle over cover, since I just wanted to make it worth the trip. He then started saying that there are people with pull lists that will need this book. Apparently the people with pull lists must be really good customers if they put 6+ month old books in their boxes. The guy then acted like he was doing me a favor selling me 1 copy at cover, and told me that they never charge over cover for newer books. Meanwhile, they have books that are barely 2 months old for way over cover price sitting right next to the register. Of course, he looked like a complete insufficiently_thoughtful_person the entire time, but I chose to just take the 1 book and leave. And here is their item up on eBay now thanks to my apparent tip. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MIND-MGMT-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-0-MATT-KINDT-ALL-1ST-PRINT-/230921653401?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item35c400cc99 I know its my fault for not getting all of the books yesterday, but the fact that these people were lying and making up policies makes me furious.
  23. I bought some Silver Age ASM, and everything went perfect.
  24. I got 5-6 copies of All New X-Men 1-3, Fantastic Four 1, Avengers Arena, Cable and the X-Force, Iron Man and Thor for 50 cents each. I just looked into it, and X-Men 1-6 are selling for $30+, so those might have future potential.
  25. I found a bunch of Marvel Now #1 issues in the 50 cent and dollar bin at a LCS. Do you guys think they will eventually heat up like the DC New 52 or should I just get rid of them now?
