  1. Perhaps a thread such as "What would you not buy?"
  2. I have a two magazine modern submission that has been in G/E/I for quite a while and may be there months longer. "You pay what you get gotten for."
  3. 2) Delivered on Tuesday, June 20 to CGC's PO Box. 3) Received and Scheduled for Grading, Monday, July 10, 2023. 4) G/E/I, Tuesday, July 11
  4. Some more fun reading. However, the "Action Comics 1/Detective Comics 27" may be "special." Or not.
  5. Yes. I, for example, use my 1980 copy to haggle with dealers. Unfortunately, in lo these many years since around 2015 no dealer has honored the prices listed. Some people ...

  7. I own perhaps 20 raw copies of Eternals 1 and when I retire I'll submit the worthy ones to CGC for grading and, if I sell them, I'll hopefully lose no more than $20 on each copy.
  8. I have read every comic book that I own a CGC copy off, all in hard copy. Some I have likely read 20 plus times. My favorite are the DC Bronze Age horror and mystery ones. I love those comic books, even the badly written and/or drawn ones.
  9. Yes, I realized that. I made a bad joke about resealing my VHS boxes using Crazy Glue, thus my use of .
  10. Are the Mylar bags scratched, filthy, cloudy or have other damage? Over the years I have looked at a few collections with Mylar bags that have had such damage but, thus far, the sellers have agreed to let me remove the comics books and magazines from them for a careful inspection. I hope to never run into a seller like the one you experienced but, unfortunately, likely will.
  11. A lot of money for some, less so for others.
  12. Mike of CGC likely knows or will. I have been sealing my open VHS boxes with Crazy Glue.
  13. Gnomes are awesome and they remind me of one of my neighbors, or is it the reverse. I'll also note that I don't know if my neighbor is awesome. I'll ask.
  14. A certain collection, that I will not name, comes to mind. Of course, one could argue, that their have been a few "certain" collections. My conspiracy cup runneth over today ... ... ... or does it.
  15. Thank you. Of course, my comment that folks who monthly submit in large volume and/or income may depend on sales of CGC graded comic books have their submissions processed faster implies that CGC gives some submissions special handling. Am I promoting a conspiracy? ... ... ... Yes! Darn, all my submissions just vanished.
  16. I may be incorrect since I have never been interested in on-site grading and, thus, have never bothered to check on it, but solely based on reading posts it may be that CGC did a lot more on-site grading in years past than currently; that may change. Of course, the pandemic likely played a role in this if my perception is correct.
  17. Based on posted comments, like yours, and the movement of my submissions, CGC's processing of submissions appears to have slowed down substantially in my experience from last month. Granted, some posters did note in months past that their submissions in, for example, the late lamented Economy tier, at least by me, in many instances took over a year to head back home. Of course, years ago, if I correctly recall, my Modern tier submissions took on average two months to complete. Factors such as CGC comic con attendance, of course, add time to the processing of many, but likely not all (e.g., folks who monthly submit in large volume and/or income may depend on sales of CGC graded comic books) submissions.
  18. Very nice comic books. I also purchase some collections (edit) here, there, really anywhere, that often include low grade reader copies but every now and then some higher grade (8.0 to 9.8) copies of books, including some keys, minor keys, and "hot" books. For me, however, and, very likely, you, it is simply about the fun of purchasing some books and enjoying them regardless of condition.
  19. First in, first out. Alternatively, flip a coin.
  20. Apparently, CGC barely has time to grade the comic books and magazines they currently have, including those received from Australia.
