  1. Hello! We are currently experiencing higher-than-normal submission volume recently and that has put us behind with opening packages. Although I do not have an exact date for when your package will be opened, I can assure you we are working to get them all entered as soon as possible. You should see an Express package entered relatively soon. Once entered, you will receive an email letting you know it was received.
  2. Hello! The value that we ask for is for insurance purposes only and we ask that you estimate the raw (ungraded) value of the book. The Economy tier is for books older than 1975 so the books mentioned would most likely be under the Modern Tier for grading. If the books are found to be grossly undervalued, we will email you to let you know and "bump" the books to the next tier for you.

  4. Hello! This is an excellent question. Pressing is always done after the signing event and does not damage the signature. If we feel that your book may be too fragile to press, we will contact you directly to let you know.
  5. Hello! Unfortunately, to qualify for the Signature Series label, we require the signature to be witnessed by a CGC employee or facilitator. This means that it receives the Qualified label if submitted for grading.
  6. Hello! File copies should be noted on the label but would not affect the label color. If it is a Pedigree book, then the gold label will be applied and if it does not qualify for the gold label then the blue label would most likely be used. Thank you.
  7. Hello! Thank you for reaching out! At this time our census is based on our main computer system, and it reflects the labels that were assigned to the books. This means that we would need to have the books relabeled in order to have them reflected on the census. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
  8. Hello! Because this is a signature series event, it is processed with our Signature Series department. This is a comic department, so the tracking was most likely updated on that website. We apologize for any confusion that it has caused. As for the comic books not yet showing in the system, I can confirm that we are experiencing delays with entering the Todd McFarlane books into the system. We have received a large number of submissions for this event, and it is taking us longer than expected to get them all registered. We do appreciate your patience and understanding.

I am sorry to hear that you did not receive an email letting you know it had moved out of CCS. As for the dates being updated, I have been told that they would not update the date as 8/5/22 is when it was first received into our system. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
  10. Hello! I am showing that your submission is currently with CCS for Pressing services. Pressing is a very lengthy process as each book can go through the pressing machine multiple times to press out as many defects as possible. Each submission will have a different number of books and different needs as far as how much pressing must be done so there isn't any set time frame on how long one submission might take for pressing. It will vary from book to book. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Currently, we can only ship a submission together if it is for the same signing event and if they are submitted in the same package to CGC. Multiple signing events cannot be combined as events can be months apart. This requires the books to be stored for long term and we honestly just don't have the space for it currently.

  14. Hello! This is an excellent question. There are times that we receive cards that require more research or time to grade them, especially with vintage/obscure cards. These do cause slight delays as we try to ensure the most accurate information is used when grading these cards.
  15. Hello! We are only able to grade and encapsulate standard-sized boxes at this time. Most collector's editions are too large to encapsulate.

  18. Hello! Please submit the book as a Mechanical Error and we will correct this for you if it is found to be a Mark Jewelers variant. You will need to start a new submission form and select the Mechanical Error option when prompted. Follow the directions and it will provide you with a pre-paid shipping label to send the book back to our facility.

We do try to prioritize Mechanical Error submissions; however, they can take several weeks to process depending on the number of submissions we are working on before yours and how complicated the Error is to correct.
