  1. and 34 (what if daredevil was deaf instead of blind?).
  2. Im gonna get you sucker! Some of the funniest slapstick scenes I can recall. also, planes, trains and automobiles. kingspin dumber and dumber there's something about mary
  3. https://www.cbr.com/x-men-giant-size-x-men-thunderbird-sunfire-banshee/ "In speaking to the X-Men Companion's Peter Sanderson back in 1981, Cockrum recalled it being more of a matter where early on, they were going to have a few character "flunk" the original test for the new X-Men and they decided that Thunderbird should be one of them. The other two, though, were going to be Sunfire and...Banshee! ... However, they then decided against the "flunking" X-Men idea, so now they had to come up with another way to get rid of Sunfire, who they didn't want on the team at all. So he just left in a huff..." https://www.cbr.com/x-men-sunfire-giant-sized-x-men-joining/ "And in the initial version of the story, when the whole rescue mission was actually a secret training exercise, Banshee and Sunfire were both going to fail and that was how Wein was going to get them off of the team. That idea evolved into the concept of a new character dying on the team's second mission. "
  4. I'll do you one better... why was wolverine not on x-men 94 cover? Banshee was.
  5. One of the coolest comic in films I can remember. 11/22/63. Stephen King time travel film. This wasn't just a chance spinner rack. Notice the Brave and the Bold 28 (cover date 1960).
  6. I'd bet every single one of us here has had something they lost that they look back on and think about. I pretty much got taken by a dealer on a likely NM Hulk 181 when I was a kid. That was the first back issue I bought in my first comic store as a kid for $5 on a wall. It called to me, and my mom bought it. Two blocks from 7-11. The good news is you have a lifetime to get new things and get over those. I borrowed some comics from a friend and didn't get them back to him before he moved away. I wish I could somehow give him those and more. I have worse thoughts about that than the Hulk loss.
  7. Not comics, but thought some here would enjoy this. Interesting after reading about the estate sale of ECs the other day. A doctor who died from Covid-19 left his family a sports card collection worth $20 million
  8. Those look beautiful. What kind of markers do you use for coloring? As an aside, I remember a poster was looking for the original Shang Chi art for the cups. I never found it and always wondered where it came from.
  9. A few days ago, FedEx dropped a neighbors overnight at my door. I was about to walk to FedEx, and a few minutes later he comes back -- having a bad day. So they do sometimes mess up in that sense, I don't know if sig was required or not. Too bad they don't take photos of every drop off. Amazon does a few times, but it's erratic. That would solve a lot of problems. In fact, garbage services takes madatory photos now with a rig on the trucks (even though they screw up which photo goes to which house, when they try to overcharge). So it's not infeasible.
  10. Threw in the towel on Defenders Omni! On that note, I have to say, Conan is so addicting, I've plowed through every issue so far (incl. SSoC omnis) and want more. Roy Thomas was incredible (same for Buscema, Kane, etc).
  11. years ago, I used to visit the area for business. There was a Tower Records and a comic store a few doors down in one of the Malls (Arden arcade?). Good memories.
  12. Didn't your nephew just join the boards? I bet he would like some!
  13. I would flip the camera image. Good haul but feels weird looking at everything backwards.
  14. I think Star Trek appeals more to the hard science oriented person (myself incl.), whereas, Star Wars appeals to the younger fantasy nerds. List looks ok, but I never really got the adulation over Deep Space Nine. Couldn't get into it much at all, except for the original Star Trek crossover episode.
  15. Yeah. Defenders were mostly a pain to complete (price wise and hard to find sometimes), but I bet they'll drop a bit now. At least the ones covered in Omni 1.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised to see it sometime. Esp. Considering Dr. Strange, Hulk, movie popularity, and Sub Mariner likely. Although, we've been waiting a long time for Dr. Strange 2. What's in a vol 2, that you are interested in? That's why I love masterworks. Everything continuous.
  17. I think Defender Omni is out tomorrow. Although they are one of my favorite titles, I already have all the Masterworks in hardcover and digital. I think I might actually pass, as there's a finite amount of room to store, and I can't see opening and reading the full Omni over and over. Wouldn't be surprised to see it gone in minutes.
  18. Completely agree. Anyone that's ever tried to write any storyline has experienced that empty page waiting for inspiration. It's like squeezing blood from a turnip. Stan made long running dramas, turning points, and engaging characters look easy to the rest of us. That was genius, indeed. I've found that being a more technically oriented person is a hinderance to writing (myself included). But it really helps me appreciate those like Stan, that can just do it (almost effortlessly).
  19. Watched at midnight. Or should say fast forwarded through after about 1/2 hour. Not too thrilled about the CGI. Prefer the 70s version.
  20. Tomb of Dracula coming out in Masterworks this year! DM cover looks fitting for a blood red tomb.
