  1. I'll say. This time, they literally disabled the sort by price function, so you can't find neighboring equal prices in a price sort. No way their software developers can be that incompetent unless it was intentional. Their regular price sort is also atrocious.
  2. Interesting, thanks for sharing that. Although, half the time he's slapping them around or absorbing their full assaults sans any sword or device at all. Even more interesting that a handful of mortals were able to slow him down enough for Thor to get in a hit, but yet, he's practically invulnerable to multiple Gods. Disappointing that this villain can so easily defeat multiple gods without any kind of power whatsoever, and even more surprising that this story and villain have such a fan following.
  3. So I read the much praised saga of the Thor and Gorr the God Butcher in Jason Aaron's omnibus. Cool that this is the villain in the new film as I've never heard of him before. I have a question about him. prelim) I get that he has a strong backstory of hatred and vengeance for his harsh upbringing. what I don't get and I may have missed is.. spoilers ahead.. Q) How the heck does he, a non god, have the powers to literally slap around multitudes of gods like they are nothing (including gods of torture), absorb all their assaults and weapons like nothing. Was it from eating rocks on a barren world? Scratching my head here. I would think that modern books would become more plausible than their predecessors not less.
  4. Most of that stuff was probably filmed in green screen with computer generated backdrop, so I think it is feasible to go back and change the background to something else. Whether it's worth the money, no idea. Prior to the movie release, I saw some single amateur guy fill in the three spider-man on his home computer over the edited (no spider-men) commercial. And it looked just as real as the movie. Blew me away.
  5. First time I came across this if it interests anyone else.
  6. Was referring to the top 50 list above. That would require 7 or 8 movies to surpass Dr. Strange (Batman only needs one to knock him off top 50 all time). Don't think that's going to happen any time soon. I watch this list as a long term metric of the best (domestic at least). One things for sure, the comic movies have really come to dominate the big box office dollars in recent years. I would have never expected that 20 years ago. Don't get me wrong, Batman did well at the box office, very well. Just not used to seeing titles get added and removed to this list that frequently. Covid really changed the dynamics.
  7. All I'm thinking is ... so long Batman, we hardly knew ye. http://www.boxofficeguru.com/blockbusters.htm
  8. The older guy chasing the brat is fairly true to reality, if you've ever dealt with brats in public. Having his level of patience is certainly trying. The main part I had contention with was Vader letting Obi get away in the fire. Surely, he could have extinguished it, as he did a few moments ago. Unless, perhaps, he didn't want him dead for whatever reason.
  9. As someone who watched Star Wars at the theater when it first came out, I am loving this show. Held my interest more than the Mandalorian so far. I can totally understand how a great master gets old and has difficulty with something he formally mastered, along with loss of confidence against a more youthful antagonist. I don't get the hate I'm seeing here, but I am not as anal about cannon and lore as many I'm sure.
  10. Kick myself for missing the Colossal Conan omnis (on sale to boot).
  11. Almost thought you made that up, so I had to check. woah.
  12. The Conan omnis are glorious (both barbarian, and SSOC). Never knew what I missed as my younger self was more interested in the colorful heroes. Also been dipping into more modern stuff (Hickman FF, Aaron Thor, Bachalo Strange). It's tough to step outside of your comfort zone.
  13. Yep, I saw that thread over at MMW. I've got them all so far. I really want to finish the Christopher Preist run now. Similar to what happened with Shang Chi I guess. Next volume should be published soon, I think.
  14. FWIW, I finished FF Hickman I & II. I mentioned that I don't often step into the modern era, but heard good things about this. I'll start by saying It suffers from the same issue as a few other moderns I've started to read. Very dense and lots of filler, not really related to storyline. Can be challenging to slog through. That being said, the parts that were good were pretty magnificent (great movie material). Some highlights 1) Reed Richards council was a very cool idea and side story taking place in the multiverse. They were all very pedantic as we would expect, and too brilliant for their own good. 2) The side story with Johnny Storm/Negative Zone. felt like Hulk's (hero) journey through Planet Hulk storyline. Very cool and original. 3) Kree/Inhumans story line was pretty cool. 4) Making Ronan and Dr. Doom somewhat more human (esp. Doom and Val), was a good touch. 5) The Franklin Richards journey and culmination with (literally resurrecting and controlling a dead and defeated) Galactus was outstanding and creative. That's the Franklin I always expected he could be. Made Dark Pheonix seem like a regular power character. 6) Thought it was cool that Infinity Gauntlets and ultimate nullifier were small scale guns relative to the power that existed in this multiverse time span. Never realized how powerful Celestials were, but we sure see it here. All in all, a good read if not for the extra fluff. Don't try to survive off volume 1 alone. It gets really good in 2. Now as an aside, I thought I would end Conan omnibus collecting on vol 7, but low and behold I'm getting more and more blown away by the modern storylines (Christopher Priest...kiev, devourer of souls, ravager of worlds...). Who would have thought that a title I didn't care much for as a kid, has become one of the most consistent all around great titles, reading with an adult mindset.
  15. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225013276024?hash=item3463d61d78:g:NsEAAOSwazpihZQe Is this an incentive to create rare counterfeit copies? Hulk 181?
  16. Haven't been hunting in some time, but, I've seen some of the early gold foil variants fetch and arm and a leg. Example. Daredevil 2 MM vol 29. https://www.ebay.com/itm/394059676018?hash=item5bbfc97972:g:HGEAAOSwOa1iQ02T I've seen unopened for 500+ edit. yeah not much in the value in the first 27. I bought 1 to 15 for like $65 once on ebay. Some crazy expensive titles in bronze era. I'm guessing they will drop now that the omnis are covering those areas.
  17. Yep. No grading discussed there. Just love of collections, artists, and art.
  18. Yes. I don't know if I can post link (guidelines) but just do a search for marvelmasterworks forum or collectededitions. Not affiliated with this site, but big and very specialized on collected editions (masterworks, omni, marvel, dc etc) and artwork (AEs etc). If you still can't find it just PM me.
  19. who wants to lay money there will at least be a lifetime movie made about their tumultuous relationship. Plenty of information to draw from now, too.
  20. There was a guy on the masterworks board who sold off most of his masterworks collection for about $10 to 20 each (some go upwards of hundreds on ebay). A rarity indeed and I hope a non flipper got them.
  21. We've been in a 20+ year unprecedented bull market with comics going through the roof. If you are really considering selling, I would think of the old adage 'strike while the iron is hot.' I do like the idea of keeping a small set to admire that doesn't take up a lot of space. Yeah, I know, the market will never go down and even if the market crashes all the comics will keep soaring... sure.
  22. Yep, 1st AE and another that cost way over cover for years (even with reprints). Jumped on reissue. Held on to all my boxes. Makes them feel complete to me.
