  1. Total agreement with everything you said, but #6 for me is the hard facts #1 reason, and why even a short-term I dont see much of an impact. MCU and DCEU failures New Comic books being terrible No new big movies in 2024 Those will have more of an impact possibly than this scammer could ever have with what is known so far.
  2. I understand you are young, and in your 20's so I will try again to explain. "In their minds CGC market values are down now, but only till they want to sell their own books. " Some people here are acting like the sky is falling and CGC comics will now suffer grave market declines, so 50c on the dollar would seem like fair price then right to buy their books at right? I mean if now they believe CGC comics are now becoming worthless I am offering anyone here a lifeline I am baiting you and others to maybe wake the up and let your common sense brain come alive. They are contradicting their own posts. Again no one is saying this isnt a big deal, but its not the apocalypse by any sketch of the means. I am saying you and others are being very illogical if you think this current scam will have any impact on the comic book marketplace what so ever. Listen you and others are free to have opinions, and I also have the right to say those opinions are non-sense and not based in reality. End of the day CGC has zero competition, so where you going to go.....no where. Have a good night.
  3. No, actually its just how some people hear think. In their minds CGC market values are down now, but only till they want to sell their own books. Well I think many posts here are in fact dumb takes so right back at yea.
  4. Well wait a minute what if all you had into the book was auction fees, would that not be net profit?
  5. Assets-liabilities = comics are now over. That's what is going on here Greggy my old friend. I have been doing it all wrong for years.
  6. Wouldnt that also be Ordinary income or capital appreciation after expenses were taken out? You also have to add back in the sales tax right?
  7. Wait isnt that Gross Profit? Or isn't that more RoE? or Options Call or puts? I forget you are right. Thanks for the correction.
  8. Interesting. You were around back in the day, what do you think is bigger this or the Ewert? IMO Ewert by a mile.
  9. Who knows what went on. Again from that list of 350 I would imagine some of fine, but the ones where there multiples of the books I would think a good amount could have been tampered. (asm 252 300 238's etc) I think the ASM 238's might be the big one.
  10. A few hundred books a week? Damn dude I would be living in the Hollywood Hills! A hundred a month, and I left Philly for soCal. Better weather at least. I am only defending the absurdity of what some have said, nothing more.
  11. Listen dude tough to have a real conversation with someone who doesnt know what auction sites even charge or knows the difference between market value and net profit.
  12. Remember when the boards was almost impossible to get a strike? The CGC boards now, I would get a 12-month ban for just one of my average posts from 2009.
  13. Maybe is worth a Supreme court hearing as well? The $ amount is certainly going to get the attention of the National Media. Maybe even a topic at the Presidential debate here end of the year. Relax its called a joke..... Yes in reality most human beings do exactly what you said, and there is nothing wrong with that. This hobby has proven that if a known criminal has a book you want, morals go out the window.
  14. I agree. I think its a mixed bag. That is why while that 350 list is bad I think a decent mount with be Okay once the submitter sends the book back to CGC. I think we can all agree the books you see the most: ASM 238 252 300 etc are prob going to have a higher % of tampering is my guess.
