  1. I cant stop looking at this one. Really a fantastic purchase someone made!
  2. Congrats man! That is some nice artwork on the back! So what ever came about that second copy going around? Anyone know?
  3. Ahhh to be a virgin again! Enjoy my friend! Let us know what you think, but keep in mind the story changes a lot part way through
  4. If anyone gets their hands on a cgc 9.6 graded or raw copy of the comixpress I am always looking to purchase
  5. Great news! Matt thinks the logo is perfectly fine and believes the book is a solid 9.6! WooHoo!
  6. Very nice books. I know those are not the grades you wanted, but still good job (thumbs u Thanks! Yea, grades could always be better, but I am really happy about the two 9.6's as my whole collection besides 1st print and NYCC are ALL 9.6s. Question for the professionals....... 1 of the 3 graders claimed 8.0 . Is it worth the risk of resubmitting to try and achieve a 8.0? I truly feel I was robbed on this one. Anyone else that has seen this book thought it too was nothing short of 8.0/5. Call CGC and get the graders notes. It might be a tough grade or something that could be pressed out. A lot of these books seem to have finger prints and other surface wear that kills the grade.
  7. Very nice books. I know those are not the grades you wanted, but still good job (thumbs u
  8. Minor update. I took a look at my 9.4 when I got home and i noticed a small amount of this speckle in the logo along with the letters appear slightly different colors also if I stare enough. Its not as apparent as the newer copy, but if you look hard enough there is something there. still for a 9.6
  9. I dont think a little bit of dirt will affect the grade. The hairline scratches may, but I dont know. Im sure Matt will give you a really good idea of the actual grade. Those scratches where actually just on the mylar. Thanks for the input. I'm pretty excited to hear what Matt has to say.
  10. can you post pictures? This is not a great picture, but the best I have. You can see the first T is a little dirty. The second T looks about the same, but the white is just the slightest bit a different shade of white. I overnighted the book to Matt Nelson to see what his throughts are.
  11. OK, so i need some opinions I picked up a copy of #1 first print that looks amazing. Its a signed copy and looks far better than my signed 9.4. It would be a 9.6 for sure, other than on thing I see. The logo seems almost just a little dirty. There is some slight spekles in it and there T and L seem just slightly off white yellow compared to the rest of the logo. It just not does apear that bright white that my 9.4 copy does. The paper apears to be off-white or off-white to white (I am not very good at grading page quality) and my 9.4 copy is white pages. I have owned several copies there where all white pages, so I have not noticed this before, but its so slight I dont think I would have noticed if I need not already own other copies. Do you guys think this is a concern or common due to the newspaper? Will this hurt the grade?
  12. That art is very cool...but where the heck did they get it from. Jeff Smith usually does not sell his art and the seller states: "THIS IS PART OF A HUGE COLLECTION OF PRINTS AND OLD COMICS EPHEMERA THAT WE FOUND IN OUR ATTIC. " WTF?
  13. Yup saw that go for over 800. Seemed high, Now Im considering putting my CGC 8.5 up on ebay. There have been a few sellers trying to sell their CGC NYCC books for months now. One seller, who has a 8.5 has been trying to get around $800 with no sale Another, who has a 9.4 has been trying to get around $1,200 with no sale. Yet Mirage has sold 2 raw books recently. one for around $750, another around $1,200 ironically. People are taking their chances and placing bets that these books will grade really high I bet. My NYCC #3 is @ CGC right now (5 weeks now as of today). Still waiting for a grade. I'm expecting no less than 9.4 Hoping for 9.6. I paid $250 a year ago for it. I might just throw mine up there for $500 and see if there is any interest. $500? What grade?
  14. Well people in general do seem to sometimes go a little crazy on file copies. I bought a raw copy of this book earlier this year for some insane amount of money. I forget how much but it was a lot. The book was described as mint condition, so I was willing to pay up. Once recieved in hand I thought it was around an 8-8.5 at best. Back to the seller that went

  16. I do agree, but that book sure did look a lot nicer that VF in the pictures. I wanted that #2 they had up, but the interior just looked to beat for my tastes
  17. Did any of you notice the Mirage sale on ebay for the NY edition #3. I was really surprised for how much that book went for raw. I think someone is betting that it is going to be the only 9.8
  18. There is a counterfeit #2. A slabbed copy was posted a couple months back in a thread. I think it went to SDCC, but is not for sale Basically the printing was terrible and looked pretty blurred.
