  1. My latest goodies - thanks to the boards: And this Australian pickup:
  2. Added 40 card covers today - mostly drek (Gambit appearances), but also a few cool ones. Here are a couple of new releases I particularly like: A couple upgrades from raw to slabs: I broke down and added a couple of Aussie comics: And finally, the smallest card cover in my collection:
  3. The Choker book was a lot less money then the $60 for the walking dead books so I don;t see how this is comparable. I also have dealt with other board members and they have had no issue with me. If I have to serve a penalty for this then I will but I feel that I made a newbie mistake and will not happen in the future. I am really enjoying this board and like I said before I apologize to mschmidt. thanks for your time I'm glad you are coming here and acknowledging the issue. However, telling a seller that because his book was more than another purchase, he shouldn't mind you buying books here shortly after backing out of a sale. If money is so tight you need to back out of a deal, most sellers will cut you some slack. But when you have enough money for other purchases, just not his, that seems pretty sleezy. Either you were broke and needed time to regroup or you should follow through. If it was a $600 book, and then you made a penny-ante purchase it would make more sense. But if you can't afford a $60 purchase due to an emergency, you shouldn't be able to afford much else.
  4. Love the Zip Steve! I was lucky enough to get one from the same collection via Jamie.I think I may have overpaid for mine, but it's so tough to find them in nice shape, let alone with white pages! , another beautiful book I will need to steal at some point.
  5. A couple of pick ups at today's convention. My wife comes through in the clutch finding this one that I had not seen before: And she spotted the card on this one that I somehow missed even though I have seen this cover repeatedly: I also added these guys - the Dark Mysteries I had been hunting since I let one at Metropolis get away a couple years ago. The other two do not have card covers, I just accidentally won them from Terry with lowball bids.
  6. The California Comic Convention today was well-run again with a lot of older comics. I was able to add three books to my collection - two of them because my wife noticed the cards on the cover. This one brings my want-list down to 11:
  7. Here's a couple of gems I picked up from Terry as he was trying to bring attention to his show today. The rarest of Mile High copies - one with a trimmed cover (and still only VF)-: And a book in transition (this is the only issue) it was 4Favorites t, then Crime Must Pay the Penalty and the next issue was Dotty. This has to be one of the lower grade Ohio copies.
  8. Great cover on that one. Always a rush to find and score a long sought after book. Congrats. I'd like to read that one myself. Be careful.....Pokerkid might want a quarter of that book Yep, that book is one of my final 12 most-wanted to finish the niche. Great cover and a nice pickup. I'm glad I didn't see it to drive up the price. I know I would have lost the battle.
  9. And some of my other pickups. BeachBum helps me with the moderns as he has found several I did not know where coming up. (He offers a great service for slabbing moderns) And lastly, from GACollectibles, this cool sci-fi bound volume with a card cover and the classic Freas robot cover that Queen had redone for News of the World.
  10. After finally receiving my books from the ComicLink auction, my Joker set is now complete. Number 2 and 4 were the last ones I needed. I was also able to upgrade my 8. This is the only complete run that relates to my niche - basically because of the suits in the title of the comic.
  11. I have a double cover of this one that I picked up from a boardie a year or so back, but your copy looks much nicer - and only the second time I have seen this book. Nice pickups.
  12. I never thought Trey would get himself in trouble for not talking.
  13. The colors jump on that cover! Cheney was able to make that same shot without using a mirror!
  14. Easily one of my favorite Christmas covers, perhaps because it is so simple. Great book Beaumonts.
  15. Focus on all the issues below 20 and over 31 for a while. I only need a handful.
  16. Inching my way to the finish line. About 18 books to go. The Zips are among the coolest books on my to-buy list.
  17. Finally got my copy delivered. Thanks for all the information. I had no idea the character existed in other publications.
  18. Kudos to flatrock02 for: 1) finding a card cover not in my collection 2) sending me his copy at his expense.
  19. A book perhaps only myself and Chespirito may like. This was published in Mexico. Interestingly, it uses a different cover than its American counterpart. Story from this issue (which I am still trying to upgrade):
  20. Outstanding colors on that one. And it looks like this oversize beauty gets the magazine slab treatment too. They must have been cutting the books a bit bigger that month.
  21. (thumbs u Glad they fit what you were after TakinShotsToQuit and kudos also to comicdonna for grabbing another of my GA giveaway books.
  22. Awesome books, and congratulations on an incredible run!
  23. What a great Thor piece! Congratulions.
  24. I think we shop at the same store Maybe, but I hang out in the clearance aisle.
