  5. I won't say I have never received a book undamaged in an envelope, if they are secured well enough they sometimes survive, the odds of damage do go up in a plain envelope rather than a padded one. I even received a cgc slabbed book in an envelope once, that wasn't pretty. Sometimes it is the mail carrier, my previous one was horrible, and would bend books in envelopes to fit them in the mail box, even bent 50 backing boards one time that were shipped in an envelope, and shoved them into the box, and I know that took some effort, because they were tough to get back out. At least they were good for storing the bent books.
  6. I have to agree, plain envelopes are lame and pretty much a death sentence for a comic. I have never recieved a book in a plain envelope without some type of damage. Even the cardboard priority mail ones suck, padded envelopes are much better, of course a box with bubble wrap is best. I would think everyone should be aware that mail is sorted by machines and often dropped from a pretty good height, usually on a corner, if the cardboard is thin, or the book not secured to the cardboard, you get a dinged corner without fail. I always have them stamp fragile on the boxes, and the postal worker just laughs.
  7. Until the action in question is rectified or forgiven. This word bothers me for some reason . . . Sounds painful..
  8. Thanks for the fast payment Glad it made it there safe, I pack for NASA in my spare time

  11. hmm, check your window for flying pigs....(this does not apply to those of you living in Kansas)
  12. 2 down, 1 to go.... I will be glad when it's all done, I worry about it every time it leaves my hands...
  13. Yeah, that picture was from an earlier lynching, sorry, I'm a slacker...
  14. Nice book (thumbs u You have 2 or 3 threads with just one book in them, I would imagine someone is going to inform you about forum rule #2 shortly...... (not me, I'm just a casual observer)
  15. Hmm, actually, I think it should be to the right of Frazetta's signature... (thumbs u (sorry don't have a scan of it yet with Frank's signature, maybe in a few days) 3 sigs on the file copy (thank goodness there is no one else to sign it, running out of room)
  16. Nah, I was bored, figured I would rattle his cage and see what flew out... I don't agree or disagree with him, and I understand what he is trying to say, even if he comes across as some kinda self appointed forum cop, with no understanding of hypocrisy. However, I do believe this is a Message board, not an auction site, and if you want a sterile buying and selling environment, then stick with Ebay, Clink or Heritage, no one there will congratulate you for a good buy, or post anything unwanted to your sale. Matter of fact, other than the other bidders and the seller, no one will give a rat's arse. I just think there are more important things in life than worrying about extra stuff being posted in threads, yes let people post the books, but don't try to make it so others are afraid to post a comment, or icon. Life is way to short to be bickering back and forth about how many little animations or needless posts someone may have posted. over, go back to fighting amongst yourselves.
  17. Like I said, if you see a thread where no new books are being posted for what, 18-24 hours maybe, then feel free to post an emoticon. Ah, okay, just wanted to know the time span we should wait before posting anything in a thread other than 18 to 24 hours, thanks for the clarification You do realize that - 01/27/09 10:20 PM Re: A Few Funny Books For Sale [Re: nik] posted a book, and at 01/27/09 10:21 PM you posted something other than I really don't care one way or another, I just think it's funny.
  18. Ah, I see, at first it was ANY sales thread (until you were caught), now it's just ACTIVE ones, tell me how long between posts we should wait? If the guy gets up and goes to the bathroom and it takes more that 2 mins, is that long enough? Do we have to wait for search parties to be formed? Please tell us, as you seem to be making these rules up as you go along...god have mercy on anyone that plays monopoly with you.
  19. I rarely do this in a SALES THREAD, which is what we're talking about. Gabbing in forum sections like General or the other areas that are designed for CONVERSATION is expected, as no one is trying to create a environment for financial transactions and no one is waiting for new books to be posted. But obviously, the difference eludes you right? Yet amazingly, looking at your recent posts in the marketplace they involve snow blowers, jerry springer, and Utube posts.....and not a single Mr. Kettle I would like to introduce you to Mr. Pot... Or is just okay for you to post nonsense, but nobody else?
  20. Thanks for the fast payment As long as I am here, thanks to: lizards2 for some mags sborock for a cgc book EvilAsh for a raw book pirate for a SS book Sorry if I forgot anyone....that's how it is when you get old
