  1. I would have been more surprised if they came back 9.5's CGC does not use 9.5 as a grade designation I thought the same thing, but didn't want to come across as being rude. There was a 9.5, but it was only used for Wizard direct-submit books, wasn't it? Not aware of any 9.5's for Wizard, maybe it was only used for the 1/2 issues Which is more rude? to correct someone? or let them continue to use the wrong information.

  3. This just came in today, the timing is a bit ironic. This is the first #1 ever graded, and I didn't have it graded for any particular reason other than I wanted it kept safe. It's the only magazine authorized by Frank Frazetta, the scan does not do it justice, it's beautiful in person.
  4. Many thanks to Rich Henn for getting these books signed for me.
  5. Nice stuff, and speaking of Warren Appreciation has anyone noticed the last 2 sales for Vampirella #1 in 9.2 Feb-25-2010 $1,673 Cert# 0912962001 Feb-16-2010 $1,700 Cert# 0500844003 I'm not sure where the one on the 16th was, but the 25th was Heritage. Both are record sales, with the previous high being in 2007 at Jan-27-2007 $1,560.
  6. Kudos to JohnT for a couple of books in the VCC (thumbs u
  7. Thanks for the fast payment Tropean Glad they made it there safely, shipping 10 or 20 books is a challenge, 100 or more is a bit tougher. Thankfully I have shipped plenty of books and glassware, so I guess it's true, practice makes perfect. Cheers (thumbs u
  8. My first book I bought from Moses, The 10 something or another Seriously though, 51
  9. Kudos to Point Five for some nice EC reprints to go in my reading room (the wife still calls it a bathroom for some reason ) Kudos to Inaflash for a nice Green Lantern Kudo to rube11 for a nice Ghost Rider #1 All came well packed and quickly, thanks (thumbs u
  10. Warren's had a few in the fan pages.. Creepy #6 Frank Brunner has a letter published in the fan page Creepy #9 Berni Wrightson makes his comics debut with a pin-up showing a man being dragged into a grave by three ghouls. The tombstone in the foreground reads “Berni Wrightson Dec. 15, 1965” Creepy #10 Frank Brunner makes his comic debut on the fan page with a nice skeleton bursting from a grave scene. Creepy #13 Future artist Leslie Cabarga delivers a letter. Creepy #14 Frank Brunner’s second appearance on the fan page depicts an ancient & vampiric Batman! Creepy #18 Future comic writer Tony Isabella sends in a letter stating he “was less than wildly enthusiastic about Tom Sutton’s art while noting that he was a talented newcomer”. Creepy #30 Future comic artist & publisher Bill Black makes his comics debut on the fan page That's just the first 30 or so Creepys, there are plenty more in the other titles (Eerie, Famous Monsters, Vampirella).
  11. Some stuff I did a few years ago, not much time to play around lately
  12. What a lovely specimen, maybe it was used to polish a car or something, if only it could talk and tell us it's side of the story or why it was abused. (most likely it would scream in agony)
  13. This is a pretty nice book, with great illustrations by Frank (thumbs u (slipcase is a similar design as the others posted eariler so I didn't scan it) The signed/numbered ones cost a little bit more than the regular version Not sure, but I think this one is a artist proof, or printers proof, from the letters next to the numbers. I bought it thru Frank Jr.
  14. Maybe they left off the note on the label, SA; slight amount of glue at the bottom of the slab The graders at cgc are very good and quite professional, however the encapsulation and shipping departments are very human and do make mistakes. I could see someone having trouble with the slab in encapsulation and possibly using glue. If you are concerned that the slab was somehow "switched" then you should have called for the graders notes. I have never seen glue like that on a slab from cgc, but anything is possible. If the graders notes match, then you are looking at $11 for a new holder, however the shipping of one slab for a reholder is not a good idea, since they kill you on the return shipping. I do understand your concerns and would want a new holder too, but if you didn't call for the graders notes, you left out an important step. I don't want to take either side in this, but everyone needs to take the proper steps before jumping off the cliff. One other thing to keep in mind, not everyone lives on these boards, so always allow a few days for a response. Now go back to fighting amongst yourselves
  15. As an uninvolved bystander, I see it as ranking up there with the dog ate my homework excuse. First off, a drunk hit his car, was he insured? was it a hit and run? does he have insurance? Since he was not at fault, the drunk would have to pay for the damages with no out of pocket to the owner of the parked vehicle. If it was a hit and run and he has no insurance, then it might be a different story, but as it stands the whole story is too weak and smells foul. Why can't people be honest and say, I made a mistake, I can't afford those books right now, I thought I could, but I was wrong. To me, an excuse is worse than just telling the truth in most cases. over, continue on
  16. Kudos to Foolkiller for some well packed nice books, before and after his "Vacation" Cheers (thumbs u
  17. I didn't realize he was involved with the book at the time I had Adams/Brunner tunnel vision
  18. Thanks to all the witnesses that helped with this book, it took almost a year, lot's of travel, lots of slabbing, deslabbing, signing, rinse & repeat... Creepy #1 File Copy (only one I know of) SS Jim Warren, Frank Frazetta & Jack Davis Thanks guys
  19. Thanks to NYComics for a couple signature books, signed at NYCC
