  1. Just bought 3 tickets for me my cousin and my youngest boy. Driving down to the show for the first time. Looking forward to digging through the boxes and finding some gems for my collection.
  2. Brittany sorry I haven't been on the boards in a bit. Yes I'm in California I actually used the registered mail opinion which is crazy expensive. I used to use the Fedex with my own account in the past which worked great for me. Registered shipping is almost 50 percent added on to my total cgc bill which is crazy. Is there a better way or can you bring fedex back online. I have collectibles insurance so I'm not too too worried about lost or stolen packages although that always is a concern no matter how it's shipped.
  3. I for one would like to say "Thank you". I have 19 books heading that way this week. Now if you would just make Fedex a shipping option again.
  4. If they don't allow Fedex to California then maybe they should just cancel Fedex being an option period. I have Insurance and I want my books shipped back to me with my own Fedex account. Here is an idea instead of monkeying around with shipping how about putting this energy to fixing your Newton Ring problem,
  5. 10 book regular Modern submission verified on 8/15
  6. Following this thread the OP better hope he gets someone from Ebay or Paypal that shares RMA's view on the issue when he files the claim. How can PGX with everything that's slipped through the cracks still be able to do what they do. Kind of surprised someone hasn't tried to sue them into oblivion.
  7. Just got off the phone and I now have a policy wasn't that expensive and it was super easy. Doug the agent was well informed and answered all the questions I could throw at him. I was leaning towards getting a policy but was on the fence the boards pushed me over the edge and I went for it thanks for the input guys (and gal).
  8. Bought a couple of lower end Star Wars figures and some Magic cards I had in my cart for a couple of days. It saved a few bucks
  9. Thanks for the responses so far feeling better about this now. Think I might give them a call.
  10. Has anyone used this company. I got a E-mail from Metro and CGC had a ad banner on their home page. I've been thinking about getting a small policy for awhile and just wanted to see what others thought of this company.
  11. I have a cheaper test run ten book submission I will be shipping off tomorrow with the return address being my local Fedex. I hope this works because if it doesn't I'm not sure if I can keep submitting books because no one will be at home that can sign for them.
  12. If I'm not mistaken everything had to be shipped registered mail not too long again. So CGC offering fedex ground with your own account in a plus although I think this redirecting block is a little too much. I have a batch of books I'm working up to get ready to send their way and this is nice to know. With that it mind I check with my local fedex office and they told me to just ship it to them with my name on the package and we would be good to go. SO that advice earlier in this thread is . Still not sure why they would need to do something like this that even has to make you "work around it". Oh and for those thinking CBCS might be looking better. Go to their website it looks like it did 2 years ago with still no registry or census or cases that are tamper evident. The pasture is not always greener on the other side.

  16. Biggest Score...... It was more like 20 years ago and I was a newlywed with hardly a pot to in a antique/junk store won a storage locker that went to auction filled with comics. The junk store was selling everything for a quarter an issue. The bulk of the stuff was 25 cent cover price to 75 cent cover price and usually bagged 10 or more copies in a bag. This had to have been the overstock from the shelves as it rotated out month to month so most were still newsstand fresh and the titles were all there. The amount of books basically overfilled a 20ft box truck from top to bottom with still a could small pick-up truck loads on top of that. I was there when they brought them in I had bought books from them before and they told all the vultures when they where bringing them in so we could go through then when they hit the floor. I was able to pick up large large runs of most Marvel titles from the 70's to the 90's. opening the bags a taking the "best " copy out of the bags. It was basically the find that set the foundation for my collection and the past twenty years has been filling the holes and trying to get the stuff from the sixties to keep the runs going. Biggest Regret.... That I didn't or couldn't buy more. Turns out that once they made a good profit off the locker auction price and the books were there a bit they liquidated them to the landfill.
  17. Buy yourself some of these and a nice bag. If I buy a higher end book at a show it goes into these before it goes into the back.
  18. I'll see you there Ed your booth was great 3 or 4 years ago when I came down for the the end of the year show . I haven't been back since then and I haven't been to the one at the start of the year. I'll definitely stop by to dig through your boxes looking for deals.
