Hey BB, on this particular issue I'm thinking Baker did the inking and penciling himself. It really seems to flow well, but this is my opinion. In other Love Romances, where Colletta was involved in inking, it seems like some of the details were lost. Just my . You know I also wonder why Baker didn't get more work after St. John other than penciling for others. I know he died shortly after but there was a small period of time where I would have thought his work in other romance comics would have shown his signature style.

Of course Baker did his best romance work for St. John, but there are some scattered few great illustrations outside of St. John. Most were massacred by the inker (no names mentioned ). But, here is a great splash page from Love Romances 45.

These are great, I've never seen these before. I love seeing Baker's in a different light.

You would have thought he would have done artwork for Negro Romances. There was a mention he may have done one of the covers but I don't think it was him.

I recently was able to get the elusive TLP 11. Not quite as nice as Roy's but pretty close.

Just listed a couple of Baker romances low grade in case anyone is interested Wartime Romances 13 and Diary Secrets 15. Had the opportunity to upgrade.

Rob, did your True Love Pictorial live up to your expectations?

It is interesting isn't it? You get everything from "reefer smoking", brothels, to wayward girls. Things you would have thought would have been "taboo". And, these comics were targeted to the teenagers. The St. John scripts really kept you interested much better than the tears on cheek stories that came after sensors.

They do go for some big $$ when they are in good shape. But, of course not as much as most GA superhero's. I guess it's the romances that are under rated to my benefit

I just got these two Blonde Phantom comics. I know they are quite rare and thought they'd be an interesting read. It certainly can take you back to the 40's and imagine the kids that read it. I'm not sure if these are among the more "rare" ones in the series. The 22 is considered about a G+ and the 20 was considered a VG-.

Here are some more.. I really dig this Teen-Age Temptations even though there is no Baker art in the interior, you can see two artist's perspectives on the same panel. The cover is Baker and the interior has a story done by Rick Estrada. Also, even though this Pictorial Romances is one of the more common, I think it is great one for Baker illustrations. Now, anyone want to sell me their Cinderella Love 25?

This looks pretty Baker to me. I wonder why it's not acknowledged. It's really interesting to see these pencil drawings as well.

Let's see, corporal punishment, catfights? You had to ask? Adam, don't you have some great Bakers too?

Okay, now I'm totally jealous of your Baker's. That's a really nice Cinderella Love. Curious, do you have some of the later Teen-Age Romances 33 +? I'm three away from completing the Wartime Romances so if anyone wants to part with a nice 1,7,12,17 let me know! I only have two Authentic Police Cases. One's already been posted here's my other.. Also, some more romance covers...

As far as I know there are Blue Ribbon comics 2, 4, 5 (4, 5 are listed as "Teen-Age Diary Secrets on cover) which are romance. And then there is Teen-Age Diary Secrets 4-9. How's that for confusion?

Jack, if you are adding to the database here are some more. I tried once in the past to add but was unsuccesful. Feel free to add, such a great resource! The Going Steady 10 is not on the database neither is the Tee Age Romances 32. The below picture is Teen Age Diary Secrets 9. The one BB posted is Teen Age Diary Secrets 4. Also attached are Diary Secrets 19 and Pictorial Romances 10 not in the database. Hope this helps!
