  1. Kudos to Colin for the great Flyin Jenny and Jumbo. Many thanks!
  2. I'm bumping this thread because it's just so cool! And, Scrooge did such a great job with it.
  3. I'm listing some Bakers, GGA, and modern misc. Hopefully, I'll get them up tonight.
  4. Kudos to PJHIB for the super fast delivery of Rangers! Thanks
  5. This is another of my favorite covers, I'd love to have this in a higher grade. Anyone wanting to part with theirs please PM at will. Boy, could Baker draw horses or what? I wish they would come out with a book on more of his illustrations and drawings. I'm sure his family has quite a bit we've never seen. I know there is the infamous article in Alter Ego which is a must read for any Baker fan. In the Alter Ego article, they talk about how he had these file folders he carried around for source material but one of his family members chucked it. This would have also been really interesting to see.
  6. These two are not in the GCD so I'd figure I'd share them in case someone hasn't seen them before. There are now only a few spaces needed to fill in the rest of the St. John Baker's. I've seen all the St. John's but I don't actually own the last few left to fill in. But, I'll make it my mission to do so:)
  7. This is a great cover...it kind of reminds me of Dallas.
  8. These are great scans feel free to post more! I don't have much luck scanning the interior always afraid I'll damage it if it's a higher grade. Just another quick question, how do you get your image small then click to large? I have a story I'd like to scan.
  9. Kudos to Jimm94 for the great Millie comics! Thank you!!!
  10. Darn nice looking giant! Ever notice how on virtually every hand that Baker drew, the two middle fingers are together and the other two fingers are spread out. Ken That really is an interesting concept. I never really noticed it until you picked it out. I bet it just makes a better illustration because realistic wise it isn't comfortable to keep your fingers in these positions. I wonder how many of us are now going to see? I did
  11. I just recently bought this Venus 19 and Exciting Comics 60.
  12. Have you shown pictures yet of your collection? I'll have to check out your WTB. This would be great for you to get the final 7. How do you know you have everything? That must have been a project within itself to determine all the comics published in that month.
  13. All the Venus you mean? No, my Lord, no, that's the only one I have but with the This Magazine is Haunted # 3 I got in last month, this was another major book I need for my set. Now, it's just the matter of picking up schrapnel but I can't seem to find the last few books I need ... but at least Venus is off the list Curious, what is the theme of the set (if any) you are trying to put together?
  14. I just bought one, it is on it's way. I'm going to put it in the grading forum when I get it.
  15. This is great Scrooge! Do you have them all now?
  16. Kudos to Blind Owl for a great Baker comic and really fast shipping. Thank you!
  17. Hey BB, which issue is this? Interesting story.
  18. I'd love a six. Guess I should have bought the one at the VCC.
  19. Great book Scrooge, thanks for sharing the back cover. I'll have to check it out in the future.
  20. That would be great BB, do you have any good stories to post?
  21. If anyone has any other Bakers, I'm with BB post away. I love seeing these. There are some ones I've never seen before. You really do have to dig deep to find these. I did have this on ebay but I wanted $260 for it (basically what I paid less fees). These are the giant comics which have 4 rebound comics in them. Such a great cover, she's kind of inviting you into her world with the "girl next door" smile. Also, I just got this...paid a pretty penny for it...but it was one of the comics on the top of my want list. And, also speaking of this cover, doesn't it remind you of this silver age falling in love (I'm not sure who did the cover for this?) . I'm thinking it was influenced by the TLP2.
