  1. I actually met my husband in Paris and he's from Amsterdam This is actually a great issue...all Baker! And, I don't think it was re-printed anywhere.
  2. Finally...after searching for over a year and a half...I have a copy Some of these romance comics are so difficult to find. I know there are some collectors out there who have been trying to put together some of these runs for many many years. This was tops on my list and it's nice to finally get it. It's got a really cool Baker story in the interior.
  3. These would look good on Buck's pins too
  4. I picked up a beater copy of Western Bandit Trails that I didn't mind putting to the scanner..here's the first story and cover (only one Baker story in interior) if anyone is interested (I tried to do thumbnail but I couldn't figure it out with Photobucket)..
  5. I've seen Lou's copy. It is nice. I was just wondering if anyone had one that was F+ or better. I've never seen one high grade. Post away GACollectibles!
  6. I picked this up a few weeks ago. Really difficult to find in high grade. Anyone have one in high grade?
  7. Kudos to Shark for responding to my WTB for some romance comics, the great deal, and the super fast shipping. Thanks!
  8. I'm compiling a list of Baker romance outside of St. John. If any one is aware of or has an issue not mentioned in Alter Ego 47 or Overstreet, please PM me. I'd love to know! Thanks
  9. Nice colors..great books...did you find them in one batch?
  10. Super nice! Thanks! I just love this cover
  11. I really dig the shadow backdrop you've added really makes them 3-D. Great work! I know it's not the most sought after cover, but it's really my favorite Baker romance cover...could you do Cinderella Love 26? I never grow tired of looking at it and it's remarkable how you can "feel the love" in this cover. I've never seen this one in high grade.
  12. GREAT STUFF! This is #9? I'm missing it. A unique approach to the "wallpaper" cover. I agree about the mouse -- the experts (maybe it was you) attribute it to Dan Noonan, if I remember right. Do you mind if I replace the GCD cover with yours? That one is a mess. The Nazis obviously think this woman (who? Rio?) is stark-raving-bonkers to charge straight into point blank gunfire and are fleeing in terror! Jack Really cute Raggedy Ann and Andy's. I have to read at least one of these. I had this beat up Raggedy Ann from a garage sale that I just loved. I always wanted a new one but never got one But, I still loved my beat up Raggedy Ann all the same. Wasn't there also a movie as well? I vaguely recall one.
  13. The thing that I find lacking in this piece is the backgrounds. They aren't as detailed as his usual work...who knows if this got lost in the inking or not? I really don't think his "talent" lacked at the end because of all of his great illustrations outside of comics that he was also working on at the same time...maybe he wasn't motivated or was told to just do a quick job and don't worry about the details...I guess we'll never really know.
  14. Here are some interior panels from a Baker story from Stories of Romance. It's interesting to see his work after St. John. It's difficult to find his work because I don't know of any story he signed in romance after he left St. John. Hopefully, one day, I'll have most of the "known" work he did outside of St. John. Is anyone else collecting his romance work after St. John? The only list I know of is in the Alter Ego magazine. It would be interesting to know if others have more to add to this list. These images below are some of the better representations of his pencils. In a lot of his later work, the inking has deep lines making the figures appear almost mechanical because they were inked by others and the details were lost. There are a few hidden gems out there that I believe Baker himself inked, but they are indeed difficult to find and rare.
  15. Forget it...I just saw the answer...text and small illustrations.
  16. Maybe this has been answered ...but are the interiors comic panels or text stories?
  17. Kudos to Loboagain for the great Nightmare comic. Thanks!
  18. I don't think I've posted this one. I got it a little while ago. It has such vivid colors and the cool thing is that the pages are still stuck together on the corner, like it has never been read before. I've completed my Temptations run now. I just have a couple I'd like upgrades on.
  19. It was crazy prices on the PR7. I'm still out for one and I thought $275 was too much until this auction. Man!
  20. Yes, step forward all you closet Baker collectors. The prices were pretty competitive and I was really surprised about how high some of the prices went.
  21. Anyone win any Bakers on the CConnect auction? They've been going for record prices. I've been surprised how high some went.
