  1. Nice copy! I'm still on the look out for a Wartime Romances 1. I bid on the one on the last CL auction but I'm pretty sure I would have had to pay close to $200 to get it. I stopped at just over $150.
  2. I'm with Ron, I have seen an increase in Baker prices recently. Maybe this indicates that demand is on the rise. However there are still deals to be had, you just have to be patient. I do think Authentic Police Cases are underrated and I've picked up some nice ones at reasonable prices.
  3. Can I come over to your house and... um... read your collection? Baker's have the worst art wouldn't even be worth your while (remember this comment until I finish completing my collection...less competition )
  4. I wish I had the budget to dip into the GA books. There are great bondage covers back then! Feed the fetish. I'm sure you wouldn't regret it. At least most are still obtainable and less than their GA key superhero counterparts.
  5. New Baker additions I'm one away from completing the Diary Secret run. The Crime Reporter is a double cover.
  6. I didn't realize you had such a nice collection of Planets. Really nice Sharon!
  7. I think Joanna has a copy. I just want a copy. Joanna has a copy of #1, but no #2. However, with her talent for turning up scarce Bakers, it shouldn't be long before she finds one! I'm surprised she hasn't found it already... #2-The only non-Baker line drawing St.John romance cover. I would love a 2. This is correct I only have a 1.
  8. Of the Diary Secrets? It must have gone awfully fast. I don't see it listed anymore. How much was it listed for?
  9. I was also thinking the Diary Secrets Baker cover NN is the most difficult. I've seen and heard of quite a few copies of the Diary Secrets 12. I've only ever seen the D copy on Heritage of this one.
  10. So, here's the question...what do you think is the most difficult St. John romance comic to get?
  11. Beautiful copy. This one is on my want list along with many many others
  12. Fair enough! nike... Thanks for making this the first official GGA sale in the new thread! Now, just sell that nice slabbed Seven Seas 4
  13. I won this CLink...not one of those awesome deals but such a cool cover.
  14. Don't worry...it will eventually catch up. Bakers I don't think will ever go out of style.
  15. Nice Shot BB, there are quite a few of those I'd love to have.
  16. I believe this is the last cover needed to complete the St. John romance section on GCD. It's a hard one to come by. I believe that Baker used Katherine Hepburn as a model reference on this one.
  17. Good for you I saw this on CC auction along with the PR17 that went for crazy money. $750!!
  18. About time you joined Welcome to the boards Ron. It's sad Ray died I'm sure he could have provided a lot more insight into Baker. I know you know this Ron but Ray also wanted Baker to be his best man at his wedding so you get an idea how close of a friendship they must have had.
  19. Big Kudos to Billy Parker for the super fast delivery of those great Seven Seas comics. Love em
  20. He does everyone that way. This is pretty harsh...I'm sure you'd see it differently if you were you. I think that there was quite a long period of time that went by after the I'll Take It sign appeared. I can understand if in a few min...the guy said "wait a min". But, he didn't. I think it should have gone to Alex.
  21. Perhaps some of these stories were intended for, or reprinted from, Midget comics. That could explain the larger type. I have a few additional examples in one of my coverless boxes. bb The Winking Buddha story from APC 25 was reformatted from the pocket book size but I don't notice a change in the size of the lettering. I guess that doesn't mean a lot but it is interesting to speculate. Curious which issue is the lady with the dress and umbrella in?
