  1. https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/23-ask-cgc/
  2. That's cool, sounds like you'll come out great; let me know how it goes! 👍
  3. Was curious because it looks so new! Would you mind sharing the grade it was advertised as if it had one?
  4. You might try the Golden Age forum; collectors with major items probably know how to store that stuff safely.@MrBedrock
  5. I think the only time I've purchased comics from anyone online other than MCS were for the DC Looney Tunes variants because they were exclusives. They're also the only variants I've ever purchased. If they hadn't been exclusives, you know where I'd have bought them!
  6. Best post in here 🥳 You didn't get a recruitment call after your results were posted? You seem like exactly what they're looking for!
  7. Stack horizontally in a climate controlled area, I think that's about it. Do you have insurance? @valiantman Any revelations about storage since whenever?
  8. Clearly they think they can pull out a 9.8, but that's their problem (they really just want that 25c Newsstand variant!)
  9. Why, and why do you still have the comic?! 😀
  10. Hi, please post full front and back images of the whole slab including the label, thanks!
  11. Just a quick tip since you've mentioned you're new! Save yourself some major pain by removing tape from bag flaps any time you open a taped bag. Throw the tape away, and THEN remove the comic. When you're ready to close the bag again, close it with new tape from the tape dispenser you should always have on hand. Tape is cheap, comics are not! An invaluable $2 purchase: Note: There are myriad tapes and ways to use them. Magic tape is something that many people can access and is suitable for polybags. Don't use Magic tape on mylar, the slightest touch and removal can leave residue, I've found that blue tape works best on mylar and won't leave residue even after being left for months in ridiculous heat.
  12. Not worth slabbing if you're planning to sell it. Also, because of whatever's going on with that corner you might consider keeping this one away from your other comics.
  13. Hi Jim, could you take a close-up of the back upper-left corner please? Also, cover tanning kills
  14. All you can ever do to improve a potential blue label comic is to clean and press, and in this case the appearance would definitely improve. However, the cover tanning will remain and that could be a big ding. Can you post a closeup of the back upper-left corner? That appears to be the major issue beyond tanning.
  15. I have a feeling that counting is the extent of the interior page interaction. It's likely that CGC has consulted-out every moment of wasted production time, which means a count is likely just a count rather than a medical exam. How many moderns are going to have gouged interior pages with no evidence of cover damage that are buried so far left as to escape the minimal page lift necessary for a count? I doubt it's enough to justify slowing down the weekly line of 40k.
  16. While the images do show Silver Age bags and boards, the language doesn't specify. CGC could have sent larger sizes, but it's become obvious that they are focused on serving the modern market. I don't know if you were just redeeming your membership kit, but the majority of people paying CGC for shipping materials are probably going to be unfamiliar with shipping in general. I assume that would mean young people and I assume young people are primarily interested in moderns. There are ways you could get individual silver/regular sized bags and boards, but I'm sure the consensus is that if you're in deep enough to be submitting comics to CGC, then you're probably in possession of silver/regular bags and boards, if only by accident. Also, you might consider that if your book is good enough to slab, then it's good enough to send inside mylar with a thick backing board. What are those comics sitting in now?
  17. No, it happens after the work. If they bump you they'll send it in the same box, no extra invoice fee, no extra shipping fee. It's always better to select lower tier if you qualify and if you're ok with the wait time; they encourage it.
  18. Hi everyone, Can you help me out by posting photo examples (from any source) of 9.8s with manufacturing damage to one or both staples? This includes any kind of malformation, distortion, crunching, semi attachment, too deep, not deep enough...anything but the standard offset placement. Thanks for your time and for reading this!
  19. Congrats! Be sure to post results for these outstanding pieces of amazing, they will look great!!
