Thot it was a perfect canvas for his flowy psychedelic style or whatchamacallit. Reminds me a bit of moebius.

I humbly disagree...inspired perhaps but definitely not derivative. I'm a fan of J Allen. Beautiful art but Frank captured the savagery, power and sexiness in his art that J allen never did. If j allen is jethro tull, then Frank frazetta is iron maiden. Both are rock bands but one plays the flute while the other has 3 guitarists.

I get that all the time and I'm an absosolute nobody. I always thot it was a result of me winning some auctions over the years.

Im just curious....those of you who have the top tier scores, are u grading based on what you think the grade should be or based on how cgc grades?

Could you show us something that's better for you for the prices he commands ? It would give some perspective on what you are comparing against.

Much better fantasy art ? It's all subjective but we can and should at least try to categorise them. Comparing a rothko to a caravaggio makes little sense. In the world of fantasy art, frazetta would be in most pples top 3.

Maybe we should have a losers' pool for average grade for the 5 books.

I don't think they are the same books. Look at the B on Bunny for e.g.. Seems to have a crease on the 9.6 copy unless it's just glare. The grass patch near Bugs feet also looks different. And how in the world did that copy get a 9.6. The 9.0 looks way sharper.

Think the prices have already risen significantly but the real insanity is we dweebs keep paying them. It's their right to charge whatever they want. If demand drops maybe they will adjust or they may not care. Think Jim Lee's sletch prices are so high that any higher won't make a whit of difference.

9.0 to 9.2 with a C&P.

What a dynamic xmen page. I certainly think the prices will be limp generally except for premium pieces which will never go soft.

Really now. ASM 33, 50. FF 51 are classics. This is just at the top of my head. If you're comparing him to Dickens or Joyce then maybe so. He definitely wasn't atrocious by any measure.

Exactly. Panels 6-8 were all stats. I was hoping it would land in the low 20s. Thought it was on par with pricing for V pages. A page with no stats with V would probably have been in the high 30s at least. Thought the real deal was the Sandman page with morpheus ending at 90k. That's for the heavy hitters but a steal. I don't see that ever selling below that amt. Reminds me when Frankenstein plates were 'affordable' once and I thought they were too expensive.

They said he had aspergers. Looking from that lens and the time period then, where there wasn't much awareness about spectrum disorders, his behaviour isn't all that surprising.
