HI all, I been trying to itemise all my books that so that I can sell it and just limit my collection to a few keys. I had a excel list but I can't upload as the format isnt allowed so I saved it as a jpg. The resolution sucks but it can be read (i think). Hope it works. I live overseas so selling it is gonna be difficult but I thought I would give it a shot. Would love to hear your views. I was thinking of around 10k but I could be dreaming. So here goes :

What's better: grade or page quality?
Grendel72 replied to thewarning's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
A 8.5 is meant to indicate that based on all criteria used to grade a book , is deemed better than a 8.0 even with white pages. Means that a book even with white pages could not bump up to a 8.5 cause it must have had other defects. So only 3 things matter , what the book is, the price difference and which quality counts more to a collector. To me the grade matters more but what the grade is, matters. If it's a 9.8 with off- white pages vs 9.6 with white pages , I am taking the 9.8. If ti's a 5.0 off-white vs 4.5 white, I may consider the 4.5 cos I know there is a market out there for white pages. -
9.2 for me..sharp copy

If you want guarantees, then no amount of research is going to be enough to assure you those are legit sigs unless you're a handwriting expert. Even if you are, most wouldnt touch it as collectors are a skeptical bunch. The only way is to purchase them witnessed with a COA or slabbed by a reputable company as a SS, especially if u want to have it for investment purposes. If its for personal consumption and the price is right, then why not ? There's definitely a premium to be paid for witnessed sigs.

PGM: Ultimate Fallout 4 1:25 Variant
Grendel72 replied to Comiclover3000's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
9.0 -9.2. Have it graded after a C&P too. Helps to minimise any damage to a raw book and reatain its value. -
Think from a value point of you, a CGC slab would.be worth more for sure. So it's worth doing it. A 9.0 with the other grading company is probably a 8.0 or 8.5 for CGC on average. This way, its possible you might get the same grade or even higher maybe with a C&P. I rly can't say long term but I expect the value to only go up.

PGM Conan 24 (1st Red Sonja cover)
Grendel72 replied to scburdet's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I'll have a go. 8.0- 8.5 . The bottom right edge took a little beating. Looks like a well read comic. Love his art but he never drew the best female form, especially the face. -
It's Jonah Hex. And it's super fun to read. Just don't watch the movie

Shipping VERY Expensive Comics!?!
Grendel72 replied to bricksandbamboos's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
I would use the next day delivery option whether it be by FedEx, UPS or DHL. It's expensive but ensures that the shortest time is spent ftom leaving your hands, to reaching your desired destination. -
As A Buyer...what's My Value?
Grendel72 replied to ComicsGalore's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
You should add on variable commission rates based on the difficulty of obtaining the books at the onset. Based on his wishlist, you could waive commission on some "easy" to obtain books. Any savings or good deals should be passed onto him. There is no objective fairness here, just so long 2 able minded persons are willing to agree to terms. Time is money. He gets to keep his Time; you can get his money to lose yours. -
A Comic Psychology Question- Uber Powerful Characters
Grendel72 replied to electricprune's topic in Comics General
There was a mini series on Galactus called World Devourer in the 90s. Dunno abt the rest but I rly doubt any one character could pull off a stand alone series. Some maxi crossover thingmajig I can see happening. -

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seduction_of_the_Innocent Many comic books were mentioned in the SOTI book and during the congressional inquiry. This must have been one of the comic books. -
Yea agree with u . I'm a big fan of lotr as well as star wars but just based on following the production and other details, I sincerely believe (and hope) that it will be halfway decent. Obi wan had its moments but to me fell far short of what it could have achieved. Just glad that for lotr they are telling the story for the 2nd age which is so open to interpretation. In a similar vein, I hope one day they will make a proper series on the knights of the of the old Republic. Think fans would love that.
