  1. 9.0 for me. Saw the artist as "The Tribe". Had to Google it. Informal group of artists which included Tony DeZuniga and Sonny Trinidad. Wonder if anyone knows who the rest where?
  2. Guess if its a low grade 181 , think the signing will only increase the price cos 181s are easy to find.
  3. Grades in. Its been a fun ride. Learnt a few things and unlearnt a few as well. Thanks for organising this.
  4. I can confirm that he requires a contract to be signed (or used to). It was a separate contract, not stamped on the pages.
  5. Thanks. I would most happily reach out to MCS but its the shipping costs that could be prohibitive as I live overseas. But I guess no harm to see if they want some of the books. I have actually searched on their website as a guide to price my books and they don't have stock of some books which I have. Quite a few of you have suggested getting rid of the drek but I have always wondered if say I have xmen or DD 1-300, and I set aside early and key issues and break.up the collection, won't the so called drek even lose even more of its value? Some of the drek from a completist standpoint are hard to get even though they are not valuable. I remember while cataloguing my books, I had missing issues like DD 253 which was not valuable but I couldn't find it at a decent price and MyComicShop did not have stock for it for the longest time. Eventually they got it and I got a copy.
  6. Thank you all for your comments. Really appreciate it. I was thinking to sell it off in bulk knowing I will be taking a bit hit. The hope is that there are some out there who want an instant collection of relatively complete" sets of DD, Xmen, Conan, Star wars etc . I will probably try to reach out to some local comic shops to see if there are interested. Was thinking of a ballpark figure of 10k. Failing which I will consider as what many of u have suggested and cut the drek and work on selling the rest.
  7. HI all, I been trying to itemise all my books that so that I can sell it and just limit my collection to a few keys. I had a excel list but I can't upload as the format isnt allowed so I saved it as a jpg. The resolution sucks but it can be read (i think). Hope it works. I live overseas so selling it is gonna be difficult but I thought I would give it a shot. Would love to hear your views. I was thinking of around 10k but I could be dreaming. So here goes :
  8. A 8.5 is meant to indicate that based on all criteria used to grade a book , is deemed better than a 8.0 even with white pages. Means that a book even with white pages could not bump up to a 8.5 cause it must have had other defects. So only 3 things matter , what the book is, the price difference and which quality counts more to a collector. To me the grade matters more but what the grade is, matters. If it's a 9.8 with off- white pages vs 9.6 with white pages , I am taking the 9.8. If ti's a 5.0 off-white vs 4.5 white, I may consider the 4.5 cos I know there is a market out there for white pages.
  9. Not laughing ( ok a lil bit) but pls point me in the direction where I can get pages at 1k. For me think u can't go wrong with an AF15 at any grade but for consideration, how about an uncanny x men 1 ? Feel still has lots of leg room.
  10. https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/02/jeremy-renner-new-video-airlift-snowplow-accident-critical-condition-hospital/ Good thing the neighbour was a doctor
  11. Snow plowing accident. Hope he's OK. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/01/02/entertainment/jeremy-renner-snow-plow-hospital/index.html
  12. If you want guarantees, then no amount of research is going to be enough to assure you those are legit sigs unless you're a handwriting expert. Even if you are, most wouldnt touch it as collectors are a skeptical bunch. The only way is to purchase them witnessed with a COA or slabbed by a reputable company as a SS, especially if u want to have it for investment purposes. If its for personal consumption and the price is right, then why not ? There's definitely a premium to be paid for witnessed sigs.
  13. I would sell it sooner rather than later. Just my worth, and prob worth 1c.
  14. 9.0 -9.2. Have it graded after a C&P too. Helps to minimise any damage to a raw book and reatain its value.
  15. Think from a value point of you, a CGC slab would.be worth more for sure. So it's worth doing it. A 9.0 with the other grading company is probably a 8.0 or 8.5 for CGC on average. This way, its possible you might get the same grade or even higher maybe with a C&P. I rly can't say long term but I expect the value to only go up.
  16. I'll have a go. 8.0- 8.5 . The bottom right edge took a little beating. Looks like a well read comic. Love his art but he never drew the best female form, especially the face.
  17. It's Jonah Hex. And it's super fun to read. Just don't watch the movie
