  1. In bed, after waking up, because I've found that I then have a much stronger attention span.
  2. That's not David and Walt in the background, is it? They get about a bit, so it's not impossible.
  3. I never really thought about it before, but his range was quite limited. His version of The Doctor wasn't much different to his vet, Tristan Farnon.
  4. Tom Baker episode set in a lighthouse, hijacked by some guy in a Max Headroom mask.
  5. I much prefer the story and art in FF 4 and could easily live without the other book, but then I'm not a SA speculator. I do feel it's the more historically significant.
  6. One of the best and, thankfully, least sentimental Xmas episodes.
  7. I also like Brunner's EC homage cover to issue 4... Here's yours ..
  8. I read the entire series again this year. Once it gets into gear, around issue 10 or so, a consistently engaging comic book.
  9. That's one from my favourite run of 100 pagers. Archie Goodwin chose some great reprints, not to mention creating some exceptional new material, of course.
  10. Flash 123 is the most interesting and significant, with its parallel universe / multiverse story.
  11. The series goes against the typical sequel trend in that the later films, 5 up, are the best.
  12. Strangely, despite being a gamer I'm not that interested in watching film adaptations. A great series, though.
  13. 'Kid Who Collects Spider-Man' is usually considered to be one of the better ASM stories.
  14. Always interesting to broaden my knowledge of comics by reading about series that I don't ordinarily focus upon; in any genre, any time period.
  15. I was in the LCS soon after this appeared, and a guy I’d never seen before was quietly talking about comics with one of the employees, when he suddenly moved out, stood in the middle of the store and shouted … “HAVE YOU READ THAT ONE MORE DAY? IT’S BLOODY MINT !!!” I was very impressed with someone being capable of enthusing about comics quite so intensely, an ability I lost a long time ago, too jaded now, and over such an atrocious storyline. Never seen him since.
  16. That was the first issue I ever received through subscription. Mine was Nova 18. Another classic. One of the preceding issues had a crossover with ASM 171, not distributed in the UK, and I shouldn't have bothered hunting down a copy because it's an incredibly lame murder 'mystery'. Terrible issue.
  17. Not really too keen on Mark Bagley's early work. He did get a lot better. The preceding issues by Erik Larsen haven't aged well. Storywise, downhill for quite a while during this period. I preferred the J. M. Dematteis stories in Spectacular Spider-Man.
  18. That's normal for Manchester. It seemed much, much grimmer than usual, enough to notice.
  19. A deluge in Manchester. Short, but intense.
  20. Albums collecting together pages from a Scottish newspaper called The Sunday Post, alternating between The Broons one year and Oor Wullie the next - at least that was the case when I got them as Christmas presents as a kid.
  21. I've just bought a couple of pairs of Cayman Crocs. Wade Wilson is absolutely right, they are so comfy. Highly recommended.
