  1. The older you get the more you realize you may as well eat what you want. In moderation of course. Luckily the wife does at least attempt to keep me on the healthy straight and narrow. For many years I just lived off crisps and sandwiches. And alcohol. After eating a nice salad, perhaps you might finish with some original recipe American hotcakes, made with cornmeal and bear grease? But only in moderation.
  2. Nice book. I have it in the Atlas Era Menace Vol. 1 Masterwork hardcover.
  3. If I preferred the art on a variant cover and could buy it at cover price, I would choose that over the regular version. Never at inflated prices, though.
  4. Could someone translate for porcupine, please? As a northerner I can't be sure, but I think he's talking about that football team from London, called Arsenal.
  5. I haven't read any music magazines in over a decade. I bought Q regularly up until the early 90s, but I always liked those two the most because they covered my favourite genre and also had a sense of humour.
  6. Now that really is a pretty big shock. Not really - they've been terrible for ages. Never understood the fuss made about that band - seriously overrated. Couple of good songs and thats about it. I agree. Never could stand the whiny vocals.

  8. Cheeks the Toy Wonder Great choice. Beat me to it.
  9. didn't manage to wake up in time, hope people got some bargains Save up for the main event in February, down in London.
  10. Firstly, it's a small, limited show. I can only think of one good new comics dealer who was there - Split Infinity. I have no idea if they still attend. Tony Taylor, who was situated opposite them at the time, can bring recent material in his stock at reasonable prices. I have been told recently that there are still plenty of the usual remaindered 50p and £1 modern comics dotted around the show, but I'm not sure at all about the more expensive modern variants. Even though I'm a bit out of touch, hope that helps.
  11. Never been to one but I'm definitely thinking about it. If you haven't been to one before, it could be worth a look. Same dealers in general, with an occasional new face taking a table from time to time, but it soon becomes a very repetitive experience. I don't do them anymore mainly because I have problems handling the city centre on Saturdays.
  12. I've not heard of that either. The only use of the acronym I'm aware of is Mile High's new comics service.
  13. I just looked at that gorgeous helping of fish and chips and imagined the battered goodness submerged beneath a lake of fiery-hot sauce.
  14. My favorite artist. Drew the best Hulk ever Yes. A truly excellent version of the character. I have a Hulk head sketch pencilled by her.
  15. Yup. That's the point. And my fellow northerner still forgot.
  16. I forgot to ask. You forgot the curry as well.
  17. - Ramona Fradon - Marie Severin - Chynna Clugston - Jessica Abel - Amanda Conner That was from memory. Then, after about ten seconds of Googling... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_female_comics_creators
  18. Thomas is a very interesting guy. I had a chat with him at the ECCC , mentioned I was from Manchester and he went on to talking about Coronation Street. Quite unexpected. He's a very big fan of the show, with videotape recordings going back decades.
