I don't think your book can be put to shame. That's a beauty and a good example for this question. Is that a book you would consider having pressed or has it already been done?

Thanks. That's all helpful info. I have a number of books where a .5 or 1.0 bump would dramatically increase the value.

I've thought a lot about this recently because I have a lot of old label books. What has your overall experience been with pressing (any negative experiences)? Do you typically hope for a half grade bump or have you received higher bumps than .5 on high grade books? Did you have CGC do the pressing or another company? Sorry to pepper you with questions, but I've wanted to ask someone with some real world experience.

This one is way out of order in our stroll down Spider-Man memory lane, but I just won the Suscha News Pedigree copy of ASM #31.

Strange Tales #115 (2nd Sandman) coincides with ASM #7. Both had a 9/10/63 release date. You can see the arrival date stamp on my #115.

I recently sold my #7 to help fund another transaction.

I was fortunate to win this #6 in a Heritage auction last year where I think it was overshadowed by a bunch of high dollar books. Definitely another Ditko classic.

I was fortunate to win this big boy (with two big boys doing battle) on the first night of the CL auction.

I was hunting for a Marvel Feature #1 and just won a nice one.

#5 is another one of my favorite early Spider-Man (and Doctor Doom) covers.

I believe that's an early Spider-Man at the bottom of that cover. He's starting to pop up everywhere.

Take a look at that 6 10 date stamp on the cover. That June date fits with the release date timeframe we're talking about.

This is my favorite ASM cover of all time (AF #15 is in its own category). I first saw an ASM #4 as a kid at B&D Comics in Roanoke, VA in the early 1980s. It was in a glass revolving showcase and it was $75. That was a lot of money to me as a kid so I didn't buy it and all I could do was dream of owning one. I've owned several since then starting with a bargain $20 mail order purchase that I no longer have (from Marty Hay if anyone remembers that mail order name). This CGC 9.0 is the best I've come up with so far.

Thanks. That's very helpful. I pasted this into a Word document on my desktop. The chronology always confuses me because of the dates on the CGC labels vs. the release dates. I figured I would throw out the Strange Tales Annual #2 to try to get the answer to this burning question.

If you saw this cover on the newsstand, how you could resist plunking down your last 12 cents to read about this new villain?

I've always heard that Strange Tales Annual #2 is Spider-Man's 4th appearance in comics. Is everyone in agreement on that? I don't have raw copies so I can't look inside for dates. June 1963 Distributed to newsstands in June 1963 (at the same time as issues cover-dated August and September 1963).

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. After owning a number of #2s in the past, with the best being a CGC 4.0, I had my eye on this one for a while. I'm a sucker for a Stan Lee signature. I usually stay away from trimmed books, but I like the overall look of this one. The Vulture has never been my favorite Spider-Man foe, but this Steve Ditko cover is magnificent. I like when our hero is depicted high above the city.
