  1. I've been waiting patiently to post another FF issue in sequence like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.
  2. The more I look at this cover the more I appreciate how great it is.
  3. THE END OF SPIDER-MAN! Fortunately for us, Spidey overcame the Sandman once again. I like how all the different colors on this cover work together, especially the red and yellow.
  4. I remember hanging out with my friend down the street and his younger brother. We would each bring out our own short box of prized comics and look through each box. His younger brother had a beat but complete #17 that I always tried to trade for with no success.
  5. What Spidey looks like on that cover is what I feel like when I get out of bed in the morning before I've had my first coffee.
  6. Holy high grade, Batman! That's a very nice group.
  7. Great eye appeal. Hard to argue against that. Congratulations!
  8. Kraven was brought to life for me in his 80s episode of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. That cartoon series narrated by Stan Lee got me hooked on all the Marvel characters.
  9. Here's another early Spider-Man crossover cover. Feel free to post your TTA #57. We have another unique Kirby drawing of Spider-Man on this cover as there is no Spider emblem on the back of his costume. I'm using the very helpful chronology provided by @DST via the Mike's Amazing World site. @DST said: For chronology, I use Mike's Amazing World for cover dates vs. release dates: http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/main/index.php ASM11 and DD1 both have cover dates of 4/1964. Per this site, ASM11 was released on 1/10/1964 and DD1 was released on 2/4/1964. ASM12 has a cover date of 5/1964 and per this site was released on 2/11/1964. TTA57 would tie ASM14 with a cover date of 7/1964. Per this site, TT57 was released on 4/2/1964 while ASM14 was released a week later on 4/9/1964.
  10. I won this key Action issue with the first appearance of Jimmy Olsen and the 6th appearance of Superman. I'm getting closer to an Action #1...only 5 light-years away now.
  11. I don't have many early ASM issues with white pages, but this is one of them.
  12. I think my brain was working at half capacity the other morning when I mentioned the Kirby cover gap between ASM #10 and #252 since the very next issue (ASM #11) is credited as a Ditko and Kirby cover. I was going off of the Jack Kirby Cover CGC registry set list, which surprisingly does not include ASM #11 as a Kirby cover. I was a little shocked to look again at the ASM #11 and #12 covers side by side to see how differently Doc Ock was drawn...fabulous detail on issue #11. Then, #12 reverts back to a more "primitive" (I don't mean that in a bad way) rendering of Doc Ock seen in early Ditko Spider-Man artwork.
  13. Excellent information. That's very helpful. Thanks! I also want to mention that I enjoy seeing all your white pages copies. I'm amazed by how bright the white areas of the covers are on many of your books...very cool (and uniform) collection.
  14. I'm glad your DD #1 got you in the mix with what is definitely an early Spider-Man cover. That's a beautiful book and I love the Stan Lee signature...nice marker color and placement.
  15. It's great to see more people participating on this thread...Spider-Man deserves it. It's been a real joy to revisit all these great covers and discuss our favorite web head. We started at AF #15 on page 725 of the thread if anyone wants to savor all that's been shared and catch up. We're currently posting images of ASM issues in order along with ASM annuals and early Spider-Man crossover covers. I thought this format would give everyone more opportunities to jump in by including annuals and the famous crossovers like Daredevil #1 (which I believe fits in right around ASM #12), TTA #57, ASM Annual #1 and Avengers #11, which are coming up soon. We might need @KirbyJack to provide another chronology to give us some technical direction since we're now past ASM #7 and Strange Tales #115 and entering the murky waters of more arrival date details. I don't currently have a Daredevil #1 so if someone can post their copy we'll work out the chronology between ASM #12 and DD #1.
  16. I believe we don't see a Jack Kirby cover in ASM again until #252.
